Regular Member davethehairbot Posted August 17, 2012 Regular Member Share Posted August 17, 2012 Hey guys, It looks like a lot of my natural hair is being lost all over the crown and top of my scalp following an FUT at my hair line. Is this normal? Isn't hair loss supposed to be up and around the recipient sites? Thanks to anyone who answers my questions.
Senior Member Icecreamman Posted August 17, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted August 17, 2012 You might be experiencing bad shock loss. I got it pretty badly in donor region and near recipient area. Probably nothing to worry about because it will all grow back. I think people on this board can figure out exactly what's going on if you can post some pics of what your referring to. Good luck! Senior Member RCWest Posted August 17, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted August 17, 2012 You shouldn't be experiencing shock loss anywhere other than the immediate donor area where the strip was taken and directly where the grafts were implanted. Finasteride 1.25 mg. daily Avodart 0.5 mg. daily Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily 5 mg. oral Minoxidil twice daily Biotin 1000 mcg daily Multi Vitamin daily Damn, with all the stuff you put in your hair are you like a negative NW1? Senior Member PupDaddy Posted August 17, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted August 17, 2012 How long ago did you have your FUT? Were you before and/or are you now taking finasteride? It could be that you are simply suffering continued male pattern baldness.
Regular Member davethehairbot Posted August 17, 2012 Author Regular Member Share Posted August 17, 2012 About 4 weeks ago. As you can see from the picture, there is diffuse thinning all over my scalp following the HT. That wasn't there before, I was thinning around my hairline, which is where I got my HT. I've been on propecia for about a year.
Regular Member davethehairbot Posted August 17, 2012 Author Regular Member Share Posted August 17, 2012 (edited) Could there be inflammatory effects due to the surgery post op? I have been noticing my scalp has been more itchy and tingly lately... I just bought some Nizoral shampoo for the first time. Let's see if it works. Any other suggestions would be welcomed.
