Harhar
So I've had a receding hairline for years but over the last two years have seen a significant thinning of the top. I started rogaine one year ago and mostly saw shedding but no real regrowth. I started propecia one month ago and really almost immediately the shedding stopped, even when I continued rogaine. About 2 weeks after starting more hairs coming out but maybe 1/2 as much as before starting propecia. I'd like to get a transplant in the hairline and frontal third, preferably FUE. Should I wait to see what propecia does over the year or should i just pull the trigger. I think i need 2000-3000 for a good repair as of now. Thanks! Senior Member richie48 Posted July 30, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted July 30, 2012 Hi bud , Give the meds a year atleast , thats what I did , that way you'll stablize your hairloss and really be able to see where a HT will be the most benificial to you . If you want to go down the HT road it is best tpo have a plan , and think long term . You may even be unfortinate a suffer from side effects from the meds and have to come off them , again give it a year to see . I had a great result from the meds first then backed it up with two HTs . I have had no problems and I have been taking finasteride since 2006 , I have now had two HTs with Dr Feller . Check out my links below to see mt progress and good luck . http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/166654-richie48-uk-patient-dr-feller-ht2-6-month-pics.html http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/166811-new-uk-member-hoping-help-advice.html http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/155471-dr-feller-uk-patient-richie48-then-now-two-year-trip-meds-9-month-hair-transplant.html 2100 crown grafts Dr Feller nov 2007
Senior Member RCWest Posted July 30, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted July 30, 2012 Always give meds a year to work. Hair follicles are in various cycles and it takes a while to see how well the medications will work. Finasteride 1.25 mg. daily Avodart 0.5 mg. daily Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily 5 mg. oral Minoxidil twice daily Biotin 1000 mcg daily Multi Vitamin daily Damn, with all the stuff you put in your hair are you like a negative NW1?
