Regular Member Dr. William Lindsey Posted July 24, 2012 Regular Member Share Posted July 24, 2012 This fellow had a frontal case done in February and was a terrific patient. I think he has posted on the forums before but is a rare visitor to the site. We did around 3000 for him rebuilding his hairline and going in to his very thin remaining frontal hair with packing of his nice donor hairs. Although he has thin hair shafts, they should give really nice coverage as they grow in. Last week he emailed in that he was surprised with the early growth he had already started to see. I asked him to stop by the office when he returns from a few weeks at the beach and let me take a look. I would agree that he’s growing early and hopefully this is just the beginning of his results that will peak next spring. I’ll add pictures when I see him. Senior Member irishsailor Posted July 24, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted July 24, 2012 Dr Lindsay this is quite a transformation. Great Job. Would you say that its more common that the early growers normally turn out as the better results? Senior Member chrisdav Posted July 24, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted July 24, 2012 That is an impressive 4 months. 2 poor unsatisfactory hair transplants performed in the UK. Based on vast research and meeting patients, I travelled to see Dr Feller in New York to get repaired.
Regular Member Dr. William Lindsey Posted July 30, 2012 Author Regular Member Share Posted July 30, 2012 Thanks I can't tell if early growth means a better final yield. It would make intuitive sense...but I've seen a number of normal and even slow growers who turn out just as good as the fast growers. Just takes longer. I have a slow grower now....that I'm worried about. I know Dr. Feller did a case on one of his tech's husbands a number of years ago and it took almost 2 years for that guy to grow in according to the doctor himself.... Hair is just hard to predict unfortunately. Regarding this patient, I know that he was concerned early on about some asymetry...meaning the first day postop... and it was just swelling. So I know he looks at the hair alot and I'm glad he's happy to see early growth. I'll put up pics whenever he rolls in for a visit. Dr. Lindsey McLean VA William H.
