Regular Member jimmybald Posted May 13, 2012 Regular Member Posted May 13, 2012 I'm 15 days post up after 3236 grafts. I still have swelling around my skull north of the scar. It feels like the skull is protruding and it's still numb. I'm not sure if I remember feeling this last time I had surgery after two weeks. Is this normal? When will it end?
Senior Member NEWHAIRPLEASE Posted May 13, 2012 Senior Member Posted May 13, 2012 Numbness is normal. I would contact the doctor about the swelling!! Newhairplease!! Dr Rahal in January 19, 2012:) 4808 FUT grafts- 941 singles, 2809 doubles, 1031 triples, 27 quads My Hairloss Website
Regular Member jimmybald Posted May 14, 2012 Author Regular Member Posted May 14, 2012 Is it possible that since it's numb my mind is tricking me into believing that it's swollen?? It's just feels strange when I put my hand around it. It feels as if the shape of my skull has changed.
Senior Member Icecreamman Posted May 14, 2012 Senior Member Posted May 14, 2012 I'm almost 2 months post and the numbness north of my scar has pretty much dissipated. But it did stick around for quite sometime, each passing day should get better...
Senior Member richie48 Posted May 14, 2012 Senior Member Posted May 14, 2012 HI With both my HTs with Dr Feller I experienced , numbness and slight swelling that lingered for up to two weeks post op , the swelling will go first after a few weeks , try not to worry . Also , like you said , due to it feeling numb you will have a sensation of the area above the strip scar feeling swollen , it will just not feel "right" for some time after . I am currently 4 months post second HT and the numbness above the scar only returned to feeling "normal" in the last month , it lingered more on the left side of my head behind and above my left ear , so even as the feeling returns it will not be uniformed , and one side may heal or return to "normal" quicker than the other side . I hope that helps bud richie 2100 crown grafts Dr Feller nov 2007
