Surgery with Dr. Panine today

I had a surgery with Dr. Panine and his wonderful staff on 4/27. I received 3226 grafts. About 2500 in the crown and the rest to refine the hairline and densify the mid scalp. The procedure took from 10am until 12am with only a few small breaks. Not much pain, just a little donor tenderness which is to be expected.

 

Another thing I wanted to share with you is about my work that I had with Dr. Pong in Thailand. Dr. Panine and all his staff were really impressed with my hair growth results and donor scar.

Good deal on the donor hair! Are you going to try and use it all?

Hopefully I won't need another surgery for some time. But it is a relief to now that my donor area has great characteristic, such as, density, hair thickness, and waviness.

My face swelled really bad around day 3. It is starting to subside a little now on day 5. My head is still swollen and numb above the suture line. I also have bruising behind the ears...is that common?

Yeah jimmy, it is common. With in a week or 10days (By the time you remove your strutures), everything will be fine..

Jimmybald, you know what... Dr. Pong is really a great doctor after seeing your hair before Panine's surgery. I love the hairline, How many grafts did you use at Dr. Pong's clinic? I was wondering why you didn't chose to go back to Pong for the hairline?

I had 1800 grafts with Dr. Pong. He transplanted into the corners of the hairline. The middle area is my my normal hair. Dr. Panine put grafts in there to match it with Dr. Pongs work on the sides. Dr. Panines work looks really good post op, no scabs, blood, I had more scabs with Dr. Pong.

 

I am back in the USA so Dr. Pong is too far away now. Dr. Panine was impressed with Dr. Pongs work. I think Dr. Pong could easily be a member of this site. I will ask for the picture that Dr. Panines office took of my scar before they excised it in order to cut a new strip. I haven't seen it so I am curious.
