Regular Member sr0d Posted April 3, 2012 Regular Member Posted April 3, 2012 Does anyone have experience with shaving the recipient area until it comes in thicker and with more dense growth? My forehead looks weird with some sporadic growth and would like to shave it until there is more density. Does this have an effect on the new growing hairs? Do they have a lower chance of growth or does this help with getting them stronger? Thanks in advance for your response. Steve
Regular Member rlc26 Posted April 5, 2012 Regular Member Posted April 5, 2012 Hi Steve, I had the same problem the hair around the sides and back grew alot and made the front recipient area look quite bad. I was use to a shaven head or very short hair before the transplant so maybe around a month after everything settled i went over my hair with clippers and over the recipient area lightly cause the hairs were like whisper thin. I personally don't think it affected anything and i'm at the 4th month after stage now and hair seems to be filling out quite nicely. Regards Rob

I do not think it will cause any damage, but probably will not help either. Dr. Glenn Charles is a member of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians
