Question for Dr. Lindsey, other docs, posters re: scar closure

Hi,

 

Dr. Lindsey is one of the most frequent posters, if not THE most frequent poster, on the topic of scar management. He shows great before, during and after shots. So my questions are initially to him but all others as well:

 

Is the idea of the double layer closure to take wound tension off of the outer portion of the scar? Also, I notice that some people get an "indent" where the strip scar is on their head. Is this a common thing or reflective of too tight sutures or techique?
