Regular Member longjonsilver Posted January 8, 2012 Regular Member Share Posted January 8, 2012 Hi all.Need some advice from you guys.I'm 42 and started using rogaine foam 9 months ago.I was warned before using the foam that i could suffer from shedding soon after starting use but was told this was common.I was really happy though as i didn't shed at all.Three weeks ago though my hair has started to fall out and i presume this is the dreading 'shedding' .I need to ask ......is this normal 9 months after first use.....and if so how long does a shed last?..... thanks for any answers guys
Senior Member irishsailor Posted January 8, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted January 8, 2012 Hi, i'm not sure if your shed is due to rogain foam if you have been on it for 9 months. People worry about shedding and believe it's always due to taking meds. The fact is we continually goes through sheds at different periods, some we notice more than others. Normally the hair grows back normally after its resting phase. I know no one enjoys shedding but i really would try not to worry too much about it. Are you on propecia? Senior Member NEWHAIRPLEASE Posted January 8, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted January 8, 2012 I would have thought a shed from rogaine foam probably would have occurred within the first month os so... Senior Member irishsailor Posted January 10, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted January 10, 2012 No worries, glad to help. Yeah if you have been on the meds as long as you have, i would say it's not the meds and maybe just a seasonal shed Hair Transplant Dr Feller Oct 2011 Hair Transplant Dr Lorenzo June 2014
