HT question PLEASE HELP!

Recommended Posts

Im 23 years old and have been noticing for the pass year a lot of hair falling out in my hand during showers.

Recently i took mirror to the top of my scalp have taking a shower and my hair was wet.. sure enough im going bald.

My hair has gone very thin on top.

when my hair is dry i dont see my scalp as much.

Anyway im confident my head is going to end up like my fathers Norwood 6

You can even see the outline of where its going to go bald on my scalp

I refuse to touch Fin .. and i am ify about Rogaine

Iv made up my mind and want a Hair transplant.

Here is my question

I know its too soon for a hair transplant.

My hairline can go back further in the future due to more hairloss.

and it can cause an island effect...

But couldnt i get a hair trasnplant in between existing hairs starting from my hairline all the way to my crown?

kinda reinforce what i have. and when what i have falls out .. i will still have the implants as back up?

or do i have to wait till it falls out to get it the hair transplant?

also how many donar hairs does one usually have?

And last question.. Do i have to use rogaine after a hair transplant.. or could i avoid that and let it grow naturally

Swiftz99,

In my opinion, given your age, degree of hair loss and family history of balding, your refusal to medically stabilize your hair loss is a very bad idea if you plan to have hair transplant surgery.

You do not need to use Rogaine (minoxidil) on transplanted hair in order for it to grow. However, most hair restoration physicians recommend Rogaine and or Propecia in order to maintain existing hair and slow the progression of future balding.

Most people have between 6000 and 8000 donor grafts available.

You are at a prime age to use Fin. You probably won't even hardly notice side effects. If you refuse to use Fin, then you must not be that overly concerned with your hair loss. I'm 40 years old and it's done wonders for me. I'm sure it could very well salvage a lot of your hair because it's still in the miniaturized state instead of being completely gone. If you are going to end up NW6 you probably won't have enough donor to completely cover your scalp with good density. Finasteride can change that.

Finasteride 1.25 mg. daily

Avodart 0.5 mg. daily

Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily

5 mg. oral Minoxidil twice daily

Biotin 1000 mcg daily

Multi Vitamin daily

Damn, with all the stuff you put in your hair are you like a negative NW1? :D

RcWest .. I am very concerned about hair loss to the point i cant sleep some nights.

but im more concerned about my sex life more then my hair.

I wont risk it even if its 0.1% chance of it happening.

Question.

If i were to get a transplant now in between my existing hairs.

What kind of results can i expect?

will my existing hairs fall out for good from hair shock?

I wont use FIN but i will use minox as last resort.

Oh, there's a much bigger chance than that---and not the two percent that merck claims, either. But here's the best part: in many cases, it's permanent!

A bad one. Any hair transplant for you at this point would almost certainly result in disaster. The smart thing to do is grin and bear it FOR A WHILE. You have the enormous advantage of youth. There's a legitimate chance that advancing technology will give you a full head of hair within 10 years. I know that sounds like forever, but it'll be here so fast that it'll make your head spin.
