Regular Member HT09 Posted December 19, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted December 19, 2009 Has any one here used or heard of Nioxin? I purchased the Nioxin "System 2" which is for fine hair. It includes the shampoo, conditioner and hair treatment foam. The shampoo and conditioner are supposed to just basically clean your hair and condition it, but the foam is supposed to increase the "percieved" thickness of your hair. I have to say, I think this stuff actually works well, it really does make my hair "look" thicker. I actually like to use it instead of any styling products like gel, which make your hair look thinner. It seems to have enought "hold" to keep my hair relatively in place. Anyone have experience with this product? I will be getting an HT in the not too distant future and was wondering if it is O.K. to use after getting an HT, and if the products are generally healthy for your hair, or if I should stay away. Bill - Seemiller
The Nioxin products are a magnificent way to promote a healthy scalp and hair. It's built in volumizer will also help make your hair appear thicker, and more natural. However, Nioxin is not proven to treat male pattern baldness. Thus, if you are losing your hair, I'd combine your use of Nioxin with proven treatments such as Propecia, Rogaine, and Nizoral shampoo (2 to 3 times a week between your use of Nioxin). I hope this helps. Bill
