Regular Member Dr. William Lindsey Posted February 8, 2011 Regular Member Share Posted February 8, 2011 This fellow had 2 previous strip surgeries nearby. Interestingly, the same doctor did both, yet chose to have 2 separate strip scars, which ran fairly parallel for the first 60% of their length, then they diverged with a nice patch of good hair between them. Both scars widened out pretty wide, and I cautioned the patient we may have the exact same problem...but we both hope not. He was easy to close with a 2 layer closure, so I am expecting a significant improvement. We excised both scars starting on the left, obtained 300 grafts which we placed in the crown, and then took out the superior scar on the right. IF we have good success, we'll go after the lower scar on the right next year. I'll try to post pertinent followup exams. Dr. Lindsey McLean VA William H.
