Regular Member hairlossguy222 Posted October 15, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted October 15, 2010 Have to return to work on Monday and am just about 2 weeks post op....unfortunately the donor area has hair shaved down from my HT, so I am going to need to cut my hair to even it out. I don't want to cut too short such that I cannot conceal the scar with Dermmatch/Nanogen. Could some of the vets with experience please let me know what grade buzz they used prior to going in public and successfully concealed their scar? I know theres obvious variables in this equation (e.g. donor density, width of scar, redness of scar, etc) but lets just talk averages here. I have T minus 3 days to figure this out. Thanks for your help guys! My procedure with Dr. Feller
Senior Member TakingThePlunge Posted October 15, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted October 15, 2010 hairlossguy222, Looking back at my own post-op pics, at 9 days I buzzed down to a 3 (3/8") and the donor area was very visible. Taking variables into account, I'm going to say that your hair should probably be in the range of 3/4" to 1" in order to mask the scar at this point. Senior Member badger_01 Posted October 16, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted October 16, 2010 your best bet is to buy a clipper and do it yourself, in stages. Its not hard to do. You can always go in to have it evened out. I buzzed down to a 2 , a month after and concealed my scar with dermatch. At 2 weeks, I was still wearing a hat to work.
