Dr. Jean Devroye
This patient is 49 years old. He had his first hair transplant in Los Angeles, but was disappointed about the results: his hairline wasn’t symmetrical and the hair loss had progressively put on the lights the pluggy aspect of the grafts. We decided to not remove any graft. The strategy was to place little grafts throug the big grafts existing to make the pluggy aspect disappear. A second hair transplant is programmed soon. The crown will be covered and I will probably come back on the anterior zone already grafted. The aspect obtained looks particularly natural. The density reached is due to the old grafts which are now undetectable. The donor area was quite rich: 69 fu for cm?. The distribution of the different grafts (see close up of the donor area) was of FU1 (18 %), of FU2 (42 %), of FU3 (36 %) and of FU4 (5 %). By the way, the result of the cutting was the same : it shows that the integrity of the follicles had been respected. The cutting gave: 2614 grafts for 6027 hairs 521 FU1 (20 %) 1028 FU2 (39 %) 810 FU3 (31 %) 255 FU4 (10 %). The transplanted area was measured seriously with the help of the Hairmes program. The area covered is about 111 cm? so an average of placement around 24 grafts or 54 hairs per cm?. The current result is very satisfying. I will complete this post after the second surgery of this patient.
