Regular Member Sac Posted July 18, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted July 18, 2010 All, I think my donor area is too thin for HT. Usually I keep my head shaved but from last one and a half month I have started growing my hair to see how much donor area I have. Do you guys think HT can be an option for such hair? Doctors, any advice please? Thanks - Kabir
Senior Member Sparky Posted July 18, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted July 18, 2010 looks like you already know the answer m8, save thousands and dont bother getting an HT, your donor area isnt going to yeild very much at all. There are some evil clinics out there that will happily hack you up for your hard earned cash, but I wouldnt go looking for them, they will mess your life up. Bill - Seemiller
Sac, Welcome to our community. Since you appear to have some donor thinning, you don't appear to be a good candidate for hair transplant surgery at this time. However, you may want to consider getting on Propecia. Propecia may help thicken up your hair on top and the sides and back of your scalp. If your donor area thickens via medical treatment, you may eventually become a candidate for hair transplant surgery, that is, as long as you stay on Propecia and understand that there's no guarantee that your hair won't continue to thin. Medical treatment is your best bet at this point. Best wishes, Bill
