centurion
I'm 2 months post-op. Most of the transplanted hair has fallen out, but some is still there. It is neither growing nor falling out, practically at the same length as it was initially. Is this normal?
Regular Member Goldilocks Posted June 24, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted June 24, 2010 Definitely normal. The majority of the transplanted hair typically falls out but there will usually be some that stay behind. I don't have percentages but this has been true following both of my surgeries. centurion
My concern is that it doesn't seem to change its charachteristics. Shouldn't it grow if it's alive?
Dr. Glenn Charles
It often does grow a little bit before it falls out. However, sometimes it is stunted and has a longer delay before it either falls out or starts growing. In most cases these hairs will eventually go through the normal hair growth cycles. No sense in worrying at this point. Dr. Glenn Charles is a member of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians
centurion
Update: It's been 3 months now. Some of the hair on the temples actually did grow, but it never fell out. Edited July 25, 2010 by centurion
