Senior Member gmonasco Posted May 24, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted May 24, 2010 Has anyone here undergone a hair transplant with an IAHRS member surgeon and regretted your decision? Or are you glad you went through with your transplant, even if it didn't fully meet your pre-op expectations?
Bill - Seemiller
gmonasco, Even the best physicians have a few less than satisfied patients for various reasons. While poor growth and bad scarring is rare in the hands of the elite, it can happen in a select few cases. Is there a particular surgeon you have a question about? Regarding the IAHRS, this organization is ran by Spencer Kobren who has his own set of standards for admitting physicians. This community sets high standards for doctors we recommend and only those who continue to produce state of the art results can become and stay recommended on the Hair Transplant Network. Senior Member TakingThePlunge Posted May 25, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted May 25, 2010 I had my transplant with Dr. Alexander and, despite my first transplant not meeting my pre-op expectations, I have no regrets and returned to Dr. Alexander to HT #2. Senior Member gmonasco Posted May 25, 2010 Author Senior Member Share Posted May 25, 2010 Even the best physicians have a few less than satisfied patients for various reasons. While poor growth and bad scarring is rare in the hands of the elite, it can happen in a select few cases. Is there a particular surgeon you have a question about? No, I'm just curious to know if people who have been through the HT experience are happy or unhappy with their decisions in retrospect. Some people might, for example, regret their decisions even if they didn't necessarily have poor results (and vice-versa). Regarding the IAHRS, this organization is ran by Spencer Kobren who has his own set of standards for admitting physicians. My only point in mentioning IAHRS was to eliminate people who regretted their decisions because their HTs were performed by "hacks" rather than top-notch surgeons (not to be construed as meaning that every non-IAHRS surgeon must be a hack). Bill - Seemiller
gmonasco, I'm very happy with my hair transplant results. I used several different physicians but my last two procedures were with Coalition member Dr. Hasson. Just so you know, the IAHRS is completely distinct from physicians we've prescreened and approved for recommendation on the Hair Transplant Network.
