The growth of the transplanted hair is permanent and life long?

Am I right to say that transplanted hair are permanent? That there are really less chances that transplanted hair will ever fall off? I am thinking this because transplanted hair are taken from the back of your head which is bald resistance area in most of the people.

 

I do understand that native hair might be effected and fall off with age but I am just curious to know about the life of transplanted grafts.

 

I apologize in advance if this topic has already been discussed on this forum, I could not find it.

As long as the follicles taken from the donor strip were genetically meant to stay in for the life of the patient, then yes, they are permanent.

 

However, there is no way to know this in advance. Only time will tell.
