Secret
I had HT surgery consisting of 1,500 grafts (strip) with a well known surgeon (whose name will not be mentioned) two years ago. I was pleased with the results but found out how much better the experience could be when I had my second transplant with Dr. Paul Rose in Tampa. It wasn't until I had the second procedure consisting of another 1,500 grafts (strip) did I realize what was missing in the first surgery. By the way, no one, not even my wife, knows about either surgery. People just commented about how healthy I was looking, and my wife thought my hair stylist was doing a good job. (I promise, this is the only thing in my life that she does not know about!) My experience is as follows: Dr. Rose had lab blood work done a month before the procedure. With my first surgeon, I received a telephone call the day before the procedure to ask if I was healthy and HIV free. With the second procedure I was taking antibiotics one day before the surgery. We never discussed antibiotics with the first procedure. I had a prescription for Prednisone to prevent swelling, and I had no swelling. With my first procedure, I received a prescription for Prednisone four days after surgery, when I woke up and found my head the size of a basketball! Dr. Rose refused to put in dissolvable sutures like I had in my first surgery. I must say, that after having the sutures removed from the second procedure, it was a far better way to go. I experienced faster healing, less discomfort, and a less noticeable initial scar. My surgeon discussed Propecia with me before the surgery and explained the pros and cons of the prescription. Propecia was never mentioned by my first surgeon. In closing, with my first procedure, I was very pleased with the end result, especially after a year of growth, but felt like I was in a HT factory. The second experience was much more professional and satisfactory from the attention and service standpoint. I would recommend Dr. Rose to anyone considering high quality HT surgery

Regular Member pc Posted February 8, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted February 8, 2005 nice post however, I think it would serve our community and help those doing research for their possible ht if we could find this out about your original dr. think about posting his name...it might help someone from the same situation you find youserlf in today
Regular Member Bonzo Posted February 8, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted February 8, 2005 Secret, I agree, please tell us who did your first procedure. Perhaps this doctor or clinic has changed their pre-op, and post-op care practices. In either case, this information you posted is very important to prospective clients-Bonzo
Regular Member Pwralleys Posted February 8, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted February 8, 2005 Secret - I've had an HT w/Dr. Rose @ SMG (my 2nd) and agree it was a better experience than my first. I have pics posted just search on pwralleys. I'm only @ 3 months so I'm withholding final judgement. I think pics would add credibility to your story - especially the part about the wife not knowing. I know folks on HLH.com are throwing rocks at your post suggesting it is a plant. Guillermo - any input since you work for Dr. Rose?
Secret
You wouldn't believe it if I told you - I am not here to bad mouth anyone as the end result was great - the process was just not as careful or professional, and I didn't realize it until experienceing a better process. This is my last post - good luck to everyone.
Senior Member MDM Posted February 10, 2005 Senior Member Share Posted February 10, 2005 pc, The reason he was thought to be a plant was because he extolled the virtues of Dr Rose and the fact that his wife didn't even know he had had a HT. He was not thought to be a plant becaue he said he had had a bad experience with an unknown doc. He would never have been considered a plant if he had not posted his experience with Dr Rose! My statement still stands!
