Guest Brad Limmer, MD
Bill: Here she is two days post op. As you can see, she is out and about without anyone suspecting she just had a HT. I don't have an exact breakdown, but as her hairline was so long/wide we had to split some of her grafts to create additional one hair follicular units. As I've noted before, she was not charged for this. While I try to limit splitting of f.u. it is necessary at times. As for medical therapy she is on Proscar ?? tablet per day and Rogaine foam. Bill - Seemiller
Dr. Limmer, Thanks for your response. Though most quality hair restoration surgeons do not regularly practice the splitting of FUs, clearly it is necessary at times in order to create the necessary singles that are needed for the hairline. Immediately post op results look great! I'd also like to know about your reasoning for prescribing Proscar. Thanks, Bill

Moderators Al - Moderator Posted August 4, 2007 Moderators Share Posted August 4, 2007 Is she affected by MPB? I thought proscar is not for women. It's typically not for women because of possible birth defects if the woman gets pregnant. I HAVE heard of it being taken by women who have had a hysterectomy or who are past the age of giving birth. The woman in this thread is 64 years old if I remember correctly. If she's suffering from MPB/FPB then proscar may work for her.
