Chief
Going back for 2nd proceedure. I have read several post about excersize, but none have adressed this issue. I plan on taking a week or two off post-op. Does anyone know if sweating from excersize can damage the new grafts?
Regular Member ShavedDethMonk Posted September 28, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted September 28, 2009 Take a look at my thread. There is a nice post by Dr. Shapiro about how to gauge whether cardio may have an impact on scar stretching. http://hair-restoration-info.c...66060861/m/385104224 SDM
Senior Member mmhce Posted October 4, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted October 4, 2009 Does anyone know if sweating from excersize can damage the new grafts? This has been discussed many times before. Sweating should be kept to a minimum, and if it occurs, it should be washed off. Your scalp should be kept clean. take care...
Dr. Glenn Charles
It would probably be wise to avoid cardio-workouts for at least 7-10 days. No matter how good of shape a person is in, when they engage in a cardio workout their blood pressure will roller coaster ( go up and down ) which may delay the revascularization process. Excessive sweating in the first few day could dislodge a grafts. The other thing about sweating is that it often can bring dirt and unwanted bacteria into the transplanted area. Make sure you keep that area very clean. Dr. Glenn Charles is a member of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians
