Guest
it's been 7 months from a 1285 graft dr. bernstein ht, and i couldn't be happy happier with the way its turned out.nice natural soft hairline, although thin its so natural i can hardly tell ht hairs from remaining hair i had.a couple of questions to the ht vets,#1)when having a 2nd procedure to fill in 1st one do you shed many of the original ht hairs placed in 1st procedure.2) is the stubble very noticeable when grafting in between hairs placed in 1st procedure.in other words the 1st ht is noticeabls when placing hairs in balding areas, now that there is some hair there does it look similar to the 1st ht,or is it easliy concealed due to existing hair placed from one procedure.3)i had good growth at around 5 months from 1st procedure, can i expect a similar reaction,or does it take much longer.4)is it safe to say that if i responded well to one ht as far as the cosmetics that i will look even better after a second one,i guess i'm worried about screwing up the first one with a second one.am i being foolish?just concerned. Senior Member tkerr22 Posted August 12, 2002 Senior Member Share Posted August 12, 2002 I had my second procedure done in March, and had hair placed in between my previous transplant. I had quite a bit of shedding as i looked worse for about the first 8-12 weeks. I have thus seen my previous hair grow back and have seen some growth of the new hair. While it took about 3 months for my hair to grow from the first transplant it is taking longer the second time around. Hair in the front has grown in but the hair behind the hairline is taking longer to grow. It is harder to notice since there is hair around it this time but I think it's taking longer too because of scar tissue and the fact that these grafts are bigger. I noticed that after my first procedure the larger grafts took longer to grow than the single hair grafts in the front. I am seeing new hairs every week, just not as fast as the first time. I know I need to give it a good 10-12 months this time as many people have stated the same thing, that it takes longer for the second transplant to grow. So, I wait as it has just been 5 months. I hope this helps a little. My Hair Loss Weblog
