Senior Member arfy Posted January 18, 2003 Senior Member Share Posted January 18, 2003 <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>"HairMax LaserComb is now officially qualified in Canada as an effective and attractive alternative to both topical and oral drug therapies." What a bunch of BS! The sad thing is that some people will hear this and think that they can use the laser comb instead of the effective treatments like Propecia.<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>"Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) has been used internationally since the 1960s mostly for wound healing and pain relief", states Dr. Martin Unger, MD, a world authority in hair restoration and Medical Director for Lexington International, "LLLT is now starting to become recognized in North America as an effective modality for Alopecia (Hair Loss) and other dermatological medical conditions ". Notice how he is careful to use the word "Alopecia" which can be other kinds of hair loss besides Male Pattern Baldness. If the laser comb helps people with Alopecia Areata, that is nice. However the bulk of their customers will not be people with Alopoecia Areata, it will be people with Male Pattern Baldness. This laser comb is a complete scam. If you are interested in the laser comb, go to their website and read the forums there. Guys who have male pattern baldness are saying the laser comb did nothing for them. This is all about making unscrupulous doctors like Martin Unger rich.
Regular Member dodgedabullet Posted January 18, 2003 Regular Member Share Posted January 18, 2003 I thought the laser comb sounded like a scam at first too. But I recently found out that even Shapiro may test it out on patients. I also disagree that Martin Unger is dishonest. In my heart of hearts, though, I agree with Arfy, and don't think the laser comb works.
Regular Member jedi Posted January 19, 2003 Regular Member Share Posted January 19, 2003 As Arfy says go here ... http://www.hairmaxforum.com/list.php?f=1 read the forums then make your own mind up. My opinion is that would make an excellent paper weight.
