hi guys, i though i would post my full trip and HT story so you guys can read and for advice if any one is considering HT icon_biggrin.gif

It was a very long trip (but well worth it) i had a 4hour train to london and 8hour plane ride to NewYork. That was the easy part compared to finding the hotel i stayed at the andrews hotel in Great Neck i got a cab from JFK airport and he toke 30mins looking at a map and still didnt know where it was so he went back to the airport and ask one of the guys who give the taxi drivers the job and he still didnt get it so the guy got us another taxi (didnt get charged for the 1st one didnt get rip off ) got in cab number two and lucky i had the hotel number called them and got directions but it stilll toke 3HOURS!!! but the main reason was it was night and with no street lighting missed alot of the signs but he still only charged me $40 but i gave him $55 considering he was nice enough to drive me round for 3hours lol (incase any one is going to stay at this hotel i have put directions on the bottom so it will only take about 40mins in cab icon_biggrin.gif). The hotel was very nice and posh and a great place to eat next door (came in handy). If by now you havnt worked it out i was going to have my HT with DR.Feller, i was very scared on the morning of the surgery but once i got there i felt alot more at ease i talk to him before the surgery and he is a very nice guy i could tell he was 100% on everything and before i knew it i was having my injections and i have heard alot of storys on the internet saying "it really hurts!!!" IN NO WAY DOES IT HURT lol you just feel a lil pressure which is nothing. All of DR.Fellers staff are really nice people, by the end of my 2000graft session i felt fine i was given pain killers but i only toke them that night and since i have not felt one lil bit of pain at all i couldnt believe it in all honesty i though it would hurt alot but im SO glad it didnt icon_smile.gif and for the next couple of days while i was in NY i went round a few shops but i just want to stayin because i got to look after my 2000 babies lol. in genral it was a nice break away plus i got my hair back so win win for me lol.

Directions for Andrew Hotel from JFK airport:

exit the airport and flolow the signs for the belt parkway east. follow until cross island parkway north. follow cross island parkway to exit 31 east/northen boulevard. follow north blv east for 3miles turn left into middle neck road south turn right onto baeston road.turn left onto north station plaza then they are on the left. i copyed that outa the book at the hotel so hope it helps any one looking for it icon_smile.gif

Great Neck in genral

i was scared to go because i never went to america so i though the worst 1st but Great Neck is a very high up place and all the people i met seemed pritty nice plus some very nice cars saw a ford GT witch made my day lol

DR.Feller and his team

i dont want to sound like a sales person now but they were 5 out of 5 stars i truly felt i was in good hands the hole time icon_biggrin.gif

Big thanks to Spex for helping me along the way and to DR.Feller and his team

SETT,

If you decide to have another proceedure with Feller or visit the Long Island/NYC region again, try flying into MacArthur Regional Airport in Islip, Long Island. We have relatives there and have used it several times. Much smaller aiport and easier to get into and out of. Also very easy access to where Feller's office is via the "LIE" expressway. Southwest has tons of flights into and out of there but I don't know about any of the international carriers.

Yes, Great Neck NY is very convenient to airports and NYC. It's an upscale suburb and closest of the Long Island towns to Manhattan. You can hop on the Long Island Railroad and be in NYC in less than a half hour.

My date with Dr. Feller is appraoching and fortunately I reside 20 miles from his office.

For the NY metro area your top choices for full time HT surgeons are Feller, True & Bernstein.

Epstein and Rose visit NYC primarily for consults. I hear that Epstein has a great set up in Miami and recommends having the surgery there.

You can't go wrong with any of the above. It's more a preference of your needs and gut feeling.
