Guest
danny i'm 3 and 1/2 months post op and i have started to get a small amount of growth, however it appears to be asymetrical, meaning it is growing on one side more than the other, hopefully the other side will grow to catch up soon,if anyone reading this had a similar experience please chime in. as far as the ht hairs shedding everyone is different, mine shed at about 6 weeks with a few hairs that never fell out and just kept growing but that was only a few.the new ht hairs started growing on one side at about the 3 month mark and it is pissing me off that growth has started only one side .the new growth is kinda spaced apart more than i would like, but some hairs are thick and dark, some are light and blond not mature in lengh yet,so far at 3 and half months i haven't gotten my hopes up or given up,i know it is still too soon to judge so i'm being patient. Senior Member NW Posted April 16, 2002 Senior Member Share Posted April 16, 2002 I also had differing areas sprouting at random times, I noticed and remember very well that the hair on the top of my head came in 1st, and wouldnt you know it the frontal growth was last, I had a lot of shedding at 6-8 weeks but was clearly a happier camper at appx 4-5 months, the newly sprouted hair generated a smile that had been absent since surgery day....hang in there !! BTW I truley looked "worse" than "pre-surgery" at the 6-8 week point...it was disapointing definately, however my hats/caps are now collecting dust. Guest
Figsy, It is so soon to tell. Give yourself a couple of more months and you will really be happy. I bet many of your grafts have not even sprouted out yet. My previous hair transplant took nearly 8 to 9 months for me to notice. My hair on top came in real fine and thin. It was only noticable as it thicken in density over time. Well that was almost 9 months. I was totally dumbfounded. But as you will see, the more procedures, the longer the wait. But If you see anything at the 3.5 mark, smile, smile and smile. Peace
Guest
Hi. I am three months and 1 week post op and to be honest I have not noticed any growth yet. I am also losing hair adjacent where the HT were implanted. I am getting anxious as I want the new hairline to come through. How dense does the hair become? Please help. Am I being impatient? James. Guest
nw and ron, thanks for the encouragement.sometimes we need a little hand holding thru this so i thank you both for that.its my 1st ht,so seeing hair growing on one side and not the other made my imagination run amok,i'm thinking to myself wy would this be, something must be wrong,so it helps to hear its normal.ron you are right, new hairs seem to be popping out,but still the very front single grafts have not started yet,and they are the camoughflage hairs and very important to blend it all together.i hope they come soon.thanks again
