Laser assisted hair transplants

I think it is generally considered a fad that didn't catch on. The general consensus is that lasers can't do anything that regular surgical instruments can't do.

There are also some things considered negatives...

-laser transplants have more crusting in the healing stage.

-The laser actually removes tissue, whereas most doctors prefer slits nowadays (through needles or scalpels). Removing tissue in the recipient is typically not considered a good thing, since small grafts don't require it. The less disruption of the scalp surface, the better (as long as the grafts fit properly). Less disruption of the scalp means the transplant is less-noticeable. (Your eye is drawn to surface irregularities.)

-There is less bleeding with lasers, which is not a good thing... The bleeding is good for graft survival.
