Finasteride question

I realize this is a forums for transplants, but I have a question about regrowing hair using medications. I think I recall reading several years ago that when a person begins to regrow their hair using Rogaine, or some other medication, that the new hairs first grow in as thin light colored hairs, fall out, then grow in again thicker. Is that right? Is that the normal process when hair that has fallen out begins to regrow?

I ask because I started using Finasteride about 4 months ago and this is what seems to be happening. I experienced growth after about 2 months. These hairs then fell out and are now coming back. I'm also wondering if the new hairs will go through more than one phase of falling out and regrowing. In other words, will these new hairs fall out again before becoming normal looking hairs. Or will they ever become normal thick hairs?

Any information on this would be appreciated.

Thanks
