Hi, I am new here.

Can some explain me the meaning of these two FUSE n FUT?

Which technology is the latest for hair transplant? What is the exact word for the latest HT procedure?

Help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi P

You will see a couple different names but for the most part they are all the same .Here's the lowdown:

The latest technology is Follicular Unit ( FU's)transplantation.. This can be done 2 different ways

1 - Strip : They take a strip of hair from the donor area in the back & this is divided into FU's and placed in the bald areas

The donor closure is done using a special closure method where the hair grows through the scar ( this is called a couple different names as well)

2 - FUE : The invidiual FU's are extracted and placed in the balding area ( no strip )

That's it.. The others will elaborate

JOBI

1417 FUT - Dr. True

1476 FUT - Dr. True

2124 FUT - Dr. True

604 FUE - Dr. True

My views are based on my personal experiences, research and objective observations. I am not a doctor.

Total - 5621 FU's uncut!

pinda,

Welcome to our community.

Mrjb gave you some excellent information.

Specifically, the two abbreviations are FUSS and FUE.

FUSS = Follicular Unit Strip Surgery

FUE = Follicular Unit Extraction

FUT = Follicular Unit Transplantation

FUSS is often defined the same as FUT

I tend to consider FUSS and FUE the two different methods of FUT since both methods actually involve transplantation of follicular units.

Best wishes,

Bill
