How low should a hairline be transplanted to take account of future hairloss?

I know I've read somewhere that it should be measured from the eyebrows.

Can anyone advise?

Magoo,

While this probably sounds strange, I remember reading hairlines should be three or three and a half finger widths above the eyebrows. I placed my hand on my forehead with my index finger against my hairline and my eyebrows are just below the ring finger.

Yes, I heard or read somwhere the same thing Mr.T said, 3 to 3 1/2 finger's from hairline to brow.

Don't know where I read this but I guess I'm not the only one who did.

The IDEAL distance from your eyebrows to hairline should be half the distance from your eyebrows to your chin. Incidentaly I checked the 3 finger rule, and it does check - my transplanted hairline starts a little over three finger widths above eyebrows.

Of course ideal has nothing to do with realistic - if you are headed for NW7 we'd be talking 13 fingers not 3.
