mjsn
Hello everyone. I have 2 questions - 1 ) If I switch back and forth between generic minoxidil brands of the same concentration (5%), will it have any negative effects? 2) If I have gyno and take propecia, will it make the gyno worse? Thanks.

Senior Member hoose Posted August 6, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted August 6, 2008 1. as long as the generic brands have the same active ingrediant--minoxidil, and same % of minoxidil, it will make no differance; they are essentially the same. 2, I would say generally no; gyno from propecia is a rare side effect;

Senior Member Rick055 Posted August 6, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted August 6, 2008 I would disagree with dhoose on point 2; though gyno is a rare side effect in propecia users, for somebody who already HAS gyno, it could be an different story. Do you know why do you have gyno? Are you an AAS/prohormone user? Testicular abnormalities? Drug use (cimetidine/omeprazole/spironolactone, among others)? Or is it idiopathic? Idiopathic gyno is largely presumed to be caused by a sex hormone imbalance and/or a sensitivity in the tissue(s) that respond to them. While the average user statistically has nothing to worry about, you are not the average user. 1.25 mg finasteride EOD Rogaine Foam 5% QD am Kirkland minoxidil 5% QD pm Nizoral Q2W American Crew Revitalize Shampoo
