Regular Member dannyskywalker Posted December 24, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted December 24, 2008 imput: smoking restricts blood flow. guess the worry is bad blood to grafts??? anyway, I smoked like a chimney up until recently and my transplanted hair all grew out fine 2998 grafts/ Dr. Rahal/ 9/11/2007 My Hair Loss Weblog - Hair Transplant with Dr. Rahal Pretty damn happy
Regular Member Dr. William Lindsey Posted December 26, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted December 26, 2008 I have operated on lots of smokers who got great results. BUT, I tell all patients that their risk of infection is 5 or more times higher than a nonsmoker, and I personally believe smoking is compromising some grafts. Best to stop 10 days preop.
