Posts about celebrities are usually scoffed at on this forum. But since you brought it up ... we're talking about the guy in "How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days", or whatever the movie is? Also played the minister/scientist in "Contact".

He has always had lots of hair, as I recall. Furthermore, is he advertising Regenix? And what did he get busted for?

You don't mean Matthew Perry? Or Chris Matthews? Matthew Broderick?

In my opinion actors push anything for money, even when they have lots of money. Seem like snake oil to me. I didn't do any research on it and probably won't.

Why is there this thing with, "We don't like to talk about celebrities on this forum", crap? If anyone would know what works and what doesn't, it's a famous actor whose life and career dependes on their looks. Wouldn't you think they'd know the very best treatments out there? Personally I am very interested in what guys like Matt McConaughey( U571, Reign Of Fire) have done. If you simply type, "Matthew McConaughey mugshots", you'll see his hairline. It's prctically gone! And if you see him now, it's looking great. I'd really like to know what he does, and I don't see anything wrong with posting it on this forum.

Cheers,

He looks like about a NW3, especially when you see his shot from the side. This picture was taken back in 1999, so he's probably lost more hair since then. I saw him on tv this morning doing a "live" interview about his new movie - How to lose a guy in 10 days - He should be telling us his secret on - How to get your hair back in 10 days! He showed no hairloss what so ever during this morning's interview. He's either had a good HT, or wears some sort of system?? What do you think?

Oh Well !! Bob Dole sold his name to Viagra. At least it supposedly works though.

For the record, I don't mind the celebrity discussions. Some guys on this forum think it isn't relevant to the real world, and the hair of average Joes like you and me.

Therefore, I was just preparing for someone inevitably squashing the thread.

Sorry to burst your bubble but he couldn't have had a transplant. He just shaved his head for a movie recently...no scar. Something he's doing is working. And if he was trying to make money off something don't you think he would mention the name of the product?

I thought he did name the product. Otherwise, how would 40Something have known what the alledged product was?

With respect to J25's conclusion that he couldn't have had a HT because he appeared in a movie with a shaved head, don't you think the makeup artists could cosmetically hide a scar?

By the way J25, why the hostility? Ya know, they have medication nowadays for that sort of problem.

I looked to see if a nonbiased study was ever done and found none. Maybe someone should give it a try and report back.

Found a few links: http://www.thebaldman.com/soyoure.htm

They don't grow hair; nor do they claim to (the U.S. FDA would clamp down on them if they did). At best, they give some cosmetic buoyancy to your hair, the appearance of more fullness.

Preventing Hair Loss at Regenix

Barring serious health conditions, there are two kinds of thinning hair problems, one is scary but normal, the other you should pay attention to. Tellegenic effluvium, according to Richard Winter at Regenix, is a stress-induced condition that causes the natural hair cycle to speed up. Suddenly you are shedding 200 hairs a day instead of 50, and freaking out about all those stray hairs on the keyboard. "After 9/11, we saw a tremendous number of people under so much stress that their hair was falling out at a much faster rate," said Winter. "But as soon as the stress is eliminated, the hair grows back, and if the scalp is healthy, and there are no genetic influences, in most cases the hair will grow back as thick as before."

Regenix, which is the culmination of 25 years of research by founder and chief biologist William Edwards, also sees many cases of genetically induced thinning, which is the kind of hair loss that needs preventative measures in order not to progress. If your pony tail is half as thick as it used to be, or your hairline is gently sloping backward, Regenix can analyze your scalp with fiber optics and predict the future of your hair. If the bulb is misshapen, and the membranes are eroded, these could be due to years of deposit from hair products, pollution, and other factors, but will merely cause breakage and cuticle irregularities. However, if the follicle is deteriorating towards the bulb, or if there are patterns of hair loss present, then your problem may be encoded in your genes.

Everyone has a combination of 5-alpha reductase in the sebum around the follicle, which, mixed together with testosterone, produces DHT. But, like hayfever, only a certain percentage of the public is sensitive to DHT. The little dimpled receptor sites on the hair follicle may open up to the DHT after childbirth, after menopause, or at any time during a man's life, and receive the genetic "hair thinning" information that eventually causes permanent loss.

Fortunately, most hair loss can be stopped before it becomes a permanent problem, which is why Regenix is devoted to prevention. With an in-depth scalp analysis, a one-time treatment program of herbaceuticals, and good hair habits, even genetically thinning hair can be halted. After the treatments cleanse the bulb area of excess DHT, they then compete with the remaining DHT for the receptor sites. "If the problem is treatable by us, and everything goes as anticipated," says Richard Winters, "the client can rest assured that the thinning should stabilize. That is our primary objective." Bill Edwards' formulas have been the secret of Hollywood celebrities and 60,000 clients all over the world for two decades. Free analysis at Regenix.com

Matthew McConaughey likes to hang with--but you never know, do you? M.M. was at the ever-chic watering hole Bar Marmont on Sunset. Strip, to be exact. Matty boy was in black leather pants and a fitted, black, short-sleeved button-down. He was wearing an enormous, star-shaped ivory medallion around his neck and large, dark sunglasses on his (big, if you ask me) head. Never once took the shades off, despite the fact the joint is hardly known for unflattering lighting. M-square was with a Halle Berry look-alike, to whom he kept showing some photographs over dinner. Another couple was also at the table, and Matthew ended up being quite generous toward the evening's end when he handed out bottles of a shampoo called Regenix. It's a product that one day soon I'm sure to be using, and if that doesn't tell you what it is, just think Sin???©ad O'Connor

I am un-swayed.

Mr Mathew...had a HT along with what all celebrities insist on:

"a confidentiality agreement".

At least Burt Reynolds, Tom Arnold etc..have character enough to admit the truth.

But hey, Interested parties try the therapy, see for yourself ? Maybe this is the 1st of 5,000 former hairgrowth tonics/therapy etc.. that do work.
