Regular Member MTLien44 Posted May 15, 2006 Regular Member Share Posted May 15, 2006 Here are some before and after pics of the back, top and left side of my head. I had a 1200 FU about 3 years ago and recently, 4 months and 9 days ago, had a second procedure of 3000 FU. I am having problems with my donor scar especially on the right side where my first strip was taken. I also am not noticing any growth until now. Senior Member johnnie69 Posted May 16, 2006 Senior Member Share Posted May 16, 2006 Are you currently, or did you, use anything on the scar topically?

I used vitamin E at first an my HT Dr. recommended. I then used a product called Dermatix than my dermatologist in my home town prescribed to diminish the hypertrophia. I am now still using Dermatix (a silicone based ointment) and also for the past 2 days using a antibiotic cream to help the healing process. Regular Member MTLien44 Posted May 16, 2006 Author Regular Member Share Posted May 16, 2006 Thanks for your opinion, I choose not to name the Dr. until he follows up with some solutions to my problems... Regarding Dermatix, my Dr. approved of the decision of my dermatologist stating that it was a great product. I have been using it for 1 month now, I will continue for another and consider changing after. In my opinion, of all the scars I have seen on this wesite, it probably is one of the worst I have seen after 4 and a half months of healing !!! I presently feel like I have paid 10 000$ for a big scar, nothing else... I remain confident it will improve sooner rather than later
Regular Member sarge Posted May 16, 2006 Regular Member Share Posted May 16, 2006 The color will fade, now doubt. I'm curious as to why you have your hair so short? A little length would go a long way to cover that. I realize everyone has their own reasons, but if I wanted my hair that short, I would just shave my head and forget about transplants. Regular Member MTLien44 Posted May 16, 2006 Author Regular Member Share Posted May 16, 2006 Thanks for your opinion, Well, the lengt thing is difficult...I always shaved my head since I was 16 and I loved it...but when the crown pattern became more apparent I decided to try and let them grow and was never satisafied with the look after 2 or 3 weeks of growth and can never get to the 3-4 months lenght. I will to let them grow ...before I would shave to camouflage the baldness...now, lenght could be a better strategy !!!
