Senior Member mrkneed Posted September 15, 2007 Senior Member Share Posted September 15, 2007 What exactly is a graft?? I had 2400 grafts put in but from what I read that does not mean 2400 hairs. So I am trying to understand what a graft is. Thank you My Hair Loss Website - Hair Transplant with Dr. Keene

Guest wanthairs
a graft is a small section of the scalp strip that was cut out. it may contain any number of hairs in it.....imagine the strip being cut into many pieces. Each piece is a graft and can contain between 1-4 hairs......so yes you got alot more than 2400 hairs, unless all your grafts were cut into ones. You should call your dr's office and find out

Senior Member Gorpy Posted September 15, 2007 Senior Member Share Posted September 15, 2007 In today's world of modern transplants, grafts contain a naturally occurring "follicular unit" or FU. FU's contain from 1 to 4 hairs. For more info on FU's look here. ____________ 2700 Total Grafts w/ Keene 9/28/05 663 one's = 663 1116 two's = 2232 721 three's = 2163 200 four's = 800 Hair Count = 5858 1000 Total Grafts w/Keene 2/08/07 Mostly combined FU's for 2600+ hairs My Photo Album See me at Dr. Keene's Gallery
