Hi guys,

I have this much thinning on the back (Crown) I'm 30 years old and have been wearing a hairpiece for the last 6 years, I took propecia close to 10 years ago with not too much help as I stopped within a couple of years. I would like to use Rogaine or Generic Monoxidil to stop anymore hairloss in the crown(vertex) and possibly regrow if I can. I'm thinking of getting a transplant in the front. I have to keep the back top short to put the hairpiece on. Can I still use Rogaine or the Generic 5% Minoxidil with my condition effectively?

Thanks in advance!

Reptile,

I think a Propecia/Rogaine combination would be most beneficial. At your level of hair loss, I wouldn't expect to regrow a significant amount of hair, but they may just help slow down or stop the progression of male pattern baldness.

Only hair transplant surgery is proven to grow hair in completely bald areas.

Best wishes,

Bill
