Regular Member Perfect Fit Posted October 26, 2007 Regular Member Share Posted October 26, 2007 Chris given most of us are not doctors on this site I would suggest the following: 1) Read the offical Propecia website which lists all possible side-effects. Remember these only affect a very small percentage of users (below 5%) but include such things as lower libido. These side-effects stop if medication is stopped (ie are not permanent). 2) The long term effects of propecia ie over more than 20 years are difficult to quantify given that the drug has not been around for hair-loss purposed for that period of time. Hope that helps.
Senior Member MrJobi Posted October 27, 2007 Senior Member Share Posted October 27, 2007 I've been taking it close to 10 years since it was available ( I think around 8-9 years) and have had no problrms at all. Tough to saw if there are any LONG term effects on any drug for that matter. Regular Member hairscout Posted October 27, 2007 Regular Member Share Posted October 27, 2007 Mrjb, have you noticed much additional hair growth while on Propecia? Also, have you seen noticed any/much dropoff in its effectiveness over time? These views are from my own learned experience. I am NOT a Doctor, but people say that I do look like one from a distance.
