    Hi desperate_user, You may well experience some hair loss if you come off these medications but you should not ignore the rash or swelling. It is unlikely that minoxidil is causing the rash unless it is making contact with the affected areas. Your doctor will best advise you. hs.

    notsosure, It is not necessary to take propecia but it helps to maintain the existing hair and *possibly* some regrowth. Normally the transplanted hair falls out anyway after transplantation but begins to regrow about 3 months out from the procedure anyway. Lasercombs are a waste of time and effort! good luck! hs

    Dont know of any, cause is mainly hereditary, but.... there are the obvious steps to reduce the onset of this, i.e. try and reduce stress, good diet (vitamin b12), stop smoking, outdoor exercise & feel well psychologically... be well, hs.

    isolence, From what I know of Nioxin, I dont believe it does a whole lot for hair growth...there are only the big 3: fin, rogaine & HT. hs.

    isolence, From personal experience, lasercombs are just an expensive gimmick that just DONT WORK. Some may disagree but most here will agree and that includes some very notable HT docs. Your best bet, should you deem treatment necessary, would be to consider using Propecia or Proscar perhaps on an EOD basis. You should first consult your doctor before making any decision.     Just to chime in here, I met a former patient very recently who had his HT done by one of the supposed 'elite' surgeons in Ireland. He was over 2 years out and the results looked simply dreadful. Consider all your options and decide carefully. Good luck! hs.

    It's not all bad.... The cordless version of the LLLT light saber provides an excellent means of directing aircraft on the tarmac at airports. hs. (former laser brush test pilot)

    Indeed Proscar contains the same finasteride med as Propecia but if you experience side effects with one then there is nothing to say that you wont encounter the exact same sides with the other drug. hs.

    Dark hair has the potential to highlight any inherent unnaturalness in the grown-out result. This is the standard that ALL surgeons should be aiming for. hs.

    Never heard of it. It can take 8 months to a year to see any appreciable results from fin but would recommend using a more recognized product like proscar for instance. GL. hs.

    23yo, Usually it's hard to know if a decrease in libido is as result of the drug itself or as a result or the placebo effect. Many note that side effects subside after a few months on the med. Water semen is a well documented side effect of propecia. hs.

    Thana, This is indeed a strong result for only 6 months and there should be even more improvement in the next few months even though it looks like you dont even need it you lucky dog!! hs.

    Yes, but remember there is a significant commitment required applying rogaine once or twice a day. I dont know how many times I've heard people say that they became sick & tired of applying the stuff. When these people subsequently stopped using it, a major shed followed. Also, using rogaine on its own has produced somewhat mixed results for different people. hs.

    Hi Paddy, The Farjo Clinic is indeed a reputable clinic but you should try not to base your decision solely on location. Have a look at the many before & after pics on this forum and also on the HTN site. Do not let a trip across the Atlantic be the reason why you don't chose one surgeon over another. Remember this is one job that must be done right as you'll be looking at it everyday. Also it is nice to meet former patients of surgeons to see first hand their results. gl, hs.

    Hi Paddygone, I would recommend that you NOT get your HT done in Ireland. The docs are either WAY overpriced and/or do not provide the same standard of finished result as those offered from the coalition docs. The Farjo Clinic is the only coalition member in the UK. However, I would urge you to check out a number of surgeons before making your mind up. I know that Dr.s such as Feller, Shapiro & Epstein have been used by Irish patients in the past. Good luck! hs.

    hi kg007, Were you on fin at the time? I know that rogaine can be a real follicle killer when using it on its own. hs.
