Regular Member Dr. William Lindsey Posted October 23, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted October 23, 2008 Either are ok for the scalp after sutures out. Also, I am a big fan of neutrogena t gel shampoo, but it doesn't smell so nice. Dr. Lindsey McLean VA William H. Senior Member badger_01 Posted October 24, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted October 24, 2008 aloe vera gel is fine as long as it contains NO ALCOHOL. It also helps with the itching. My doc asked me to use mineral oil..that worked pretty well too. - badger 3279 grafts with Dr Gabel - 06/12/08 My Hair Loss Website - Hair Transplant with Dr. Gabel
Regular Member Dr. William Lindsey Posted October 27, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted October 27, 2008 Right Badger, that alcohol will dry things out too much. Dr. Lindsey McLean VA William H. Senior Member Eman Posted October 27, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted October 27, 2008 roy- I have asked the same question too, as my recipient site is extremely dry. I have only been able to find one brand of aloe with no alcohol. It's Aubrey Organics, but it is not a gel. It gives temporary relief, but after ten minutes or so my scalp is dry again. Every other aloe product I have researched that says it contains no alcohol, actually contains it (i.e., Fruit of the Earth). I was recommended J&J Baby Oil with Aloe and Viteamin E, which I will begin using today. I also am not going to wash my head twice a day any longer. The baby shampoo is drying out my scalp too. My initial HT thread: done and done!! Check it out...
Regular Member Dr. William Lindsey Posted October 28, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted October 28, 2008 Consider Neutrogena t gel shampoo. I am not sure if you can get it in England, so let me know if its available please. I have terribly dry skin and psoriasis, and it is a miracle for my scalp. Dr. Lindsey McLean VA William H.
