If its possible to conduct organ transplants from one human to another. Then why is it not possible to transplant hair. Ive read some of the posts saying that the hair may be rejected due to various reasons, dna, physiology etc,. What if any evidence is ther to back this. Has it been tried. Much appreciated if someone with a good sound medical background could shed some light on this issue.

Cheers

Abby, One thing I've read about using donor tissue from one person to another is that it can happen but the danger from the transplant drugs themselves far out weigh the benefits and therefore becomes an ethical issue.

Abby,

The body has a rejection rate with HT donor-- not as high as organ donors but high enough. Plus it has to be a "living donor" so that the FU have current blood flow and not too many people will donar a strip of scalp???

There have been some recent studies where survival success rates where dramatically improved with limited the amounth of flesh around the bulb-- but still not good enough for rejection.
