Regular Member Ralph J. Posted May 1, 2007 Regular Member Share Posted May 1, 2007 I'm 15 days post surgery and I've been using E oil and a little bit of Aloe Vera on both the recipient and donor area, however after the scabs are gone, what is the real purpose of continuing using Aloe Vera or E oil?? Does it help on the healing process or how it helps the donor area? Do you guys use anything else on the donor area to avoid scar stretching? Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thank You. Bill - Seemiller
Ralph J, Vitamin E oil and/or Aloe Vera can assist with the healing process. As an added bonus, Aloe also soothes the recipient area of any itch you might be experiencing - at least temporarily. You don't have to use either product. Personally, I do like Aloe Vera because it's easier to apply, not as sticky, and has the cooling effect. There is nothing you can really put on the scar to avoid stretching. BUT, just be gentle with the area...don't do any real heavy lifting for awhile, and you should be just fine Bill
