  1. So glad to hear that this is normal, thanks. I just put in some Paul Mitchell leave-in conditioner I had lying around and that seems to be settling it down a bit.
  2. Thanks for the replies. Glad I'm not alone. I meant the hair shafts might be thinner. As for frizzy or curly, it's more that it's light and it just puffs up. Won't stay down like it used to. Here's a picture but it doesn't really show it well. I don't have an old shot for comparison. This is right after combing it.
  3. Seven months post-op the hair has come in, but I'm concerned that it's thinner/frizzier/more like pubic hair(!) than my other hair. Is this normal? Does it stay that way?

  5. Robert, Gorpy, thanks for your replies. I currently crush and divide proscar pills into 5.Easier for me, one more dose and it evens out the finasteride(in case that's an issue) I get 30 for $80(from the UK via New Zealand) If I got it covered, I'd get 30 for $35(copay),I wouldn't have to buy online and when US generics become available next year, they would be almost free for me. If I knew my premiums wouldn't go up, these factors would make it worthwhile but I don't know that and you're right, it's already pretty cheap. Fillmore
  6. Just asking. I haven't tried to get a prescription yet but I'd like to know before I do.I don't know if it's a question I want to ask my insurance co. Seems to me, knowing ins cos,if they're knowingly paying for proscar for hairloss(and they must know), they might not be doing it out of sympathy for balding men. Robert, you have a prescription, right? I guess you've had no rise? I would really like to hear from some of you about it. Thanks, Fillmore
  7. To those of you who got scripts for proscar and had your ins co cover it, did your insurance go up after they learned of your "prostate problem"? Fillmore
  8. Robert, Yeah,I know it's risky. I ordered some proscar anyway from United Pharmacies in New Zealand which was recommended by someone in a post here. Meanwhile, I got dermatch after seeing your pics and I'm amazed!! Thanks! Fillmore
  9. Robert, You mention generics but what about online distributors based overseas that also sell merck proscar? Couldn't they fake that packaging as well? Even authentic merck stuff they say they get from Australia or the UK would look different than it's U.S. equivalent so I'd have nothing to compare it to anyway. These places sell it fairly cheaply w/o a prescription so I wouldn't have to find(and pay)a doctor who will prescribe proscar instead of propecia. Not to mention paying the doctors who wouldn't. Thanks for the great site!!
