  1. I also paid ??????¬1.95 per graft (not ??????¬1 as maxzor said minus the discount, which for 2000 grafts came to around ??2700 UK sterling...
  2. Hey Maxzor... All the scabs have now fallen off and yes, i have noticed that my hairline is a little conservative. after all, this is what i originally wanted them to do and although they did recreate my hairline, it seems that the density is not that great at the front. I think i'll know more in a few months time when the hair starts to grow out and thicken... I also remember asking the doctor to lower my hairline a little bit after he had marked it out but he said that it would give an unnatural appearance. I didn't think so but I was also in a rush to get this done during my holiday... Anyway, this HT was more just to restore the thickness of my hair until cloning becomes the norm. I am looking forward to seeing intercytex's results from their cloning...have you guys seen what they have achieved so far? It's quite remarkable.
  3. Yeah sure will do when i get back to the UK and hook up my camera to the pc...i am still in Istanbul. Day 4 post op and everything is going fine...swelling i had this morning has gone down significantly. I can already see a nice dense growth around my frontal hairline already...am sure these will fall out in 3 to 4 weeks but at least i know i can look forward to a thick head of hair in a few months! I am hoping for the George Clooney throw back I used to sport when I was 25 ;o)
  4. Hi Max, My doctor was Emirali Hamilo??lu. He was nice and seemed to do a good job. The nurses were lovely, they do a good job of calming you down. We'll see in a few months time but i'm healing nicely, not too much swelling which is great!
  5. I have started using Finasteride for a month now and just beside my temples where a bald spot was forming, i can see tiny hairs coming back...this medication works!
  6. Hi all, This is my first post on this board. I just had my FUT done in this clinic. I'm now 3 days post-op and all looks fine so far but it is itching like hell...suppose that is to be expected. I had approx 2000 grafts placed to rebuild my frontal hairline. The doctor who performed the procedure also placed around 400 out of these on the top part of my head as he could see thinning there as well. I have some swelling now on my forehead but they gave me a tight headband to wear for 4 days and nights plus a hat to prevent the swelling going down as far as my eyes. It has worked so far but i heard that the swelling happens on the 3rd and 4th day. I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping the icepacks are doing the trick! There was not so much pain post-op maybe because i was full of painkillers. That night i slept quite well, on 2 thick pillows they recommend and i also got a diazepam...did the trick! I've also started taking finasteride now for a month (which the clinic also advises)and already started to see new fine hairs sprout up on a previous thin spot, which is great news, no side effects thankfully. Let's see how everything goes a few months down the line. As for Transmed themselves, they treated me well, they are a professional outfit...although i was initially quoted for 1600 grafts from their viewing my photos i had to end up paying for 1800, but after the procedure was over, the doctor told me he managed to transplant 2100 grafts (luckily i had a very dense donor area) and didn't charge me anything extra so all in quite a good deal So to sum up: Positives: They give you lots of after-care intructions and seem like they care about your well-being. They provide you with all the necessary meds required post-op so you don't have to go look for them in a Turkish pharmacy! They pick you up and transport you back to the airport and to their clinic for the procedure and both the follow ups post-op. I live in the UK and it is substantially cheaper in Turkey!!! I got to visit Istanbul for a few days, beautiful city ;o) The negatives: There was only one, i kind of felt like they were too money orientated but i suppose this is the way it is. The doctor's English was also so so but he managed to explain everything, if in a rushed sort of way I'll have a better idea in a few months of how it will all turn out but so far so good! God it's really starting to itch now! ;o) Any questions please feel free to ask! I will post pics soon
