  1. I don't know for $650 seems kind of a waste.Folica sells these and are discontinuing them from all the complaints they received on them. They have a feed back section for their products and these combs did not do well. That's why I held off on trying it. Anybody else out there with some good results with any of these combs?
  2. I think the Nizoral 2% is worth a shot and don't dismiss until you try it for a while. I started it 2 months back (mostly from what I read here & Robert)and it might be too soon to see results but I think it is helping.(eps.the crown) If you aren't shinny bald then I think you should add it to your over-all routine. As far as the dryness just use a good conditioner.I leave the Niz on for a little over 5 mins.,then follow with a green tea or emu oil conditioner.Leave the conditioner on for about 3 mins.or so afterwards. You will be amazed. I also like the the copper spray Tricomin & the shampoo.I alternate the Nioxin, tricomin, grn tea shampoo on the off Niz days. Use the Tricomin spray everyday.(it is expensive)But this routine some vitamins(B6,E,C,mega-man,L-Lysine,Argin.(alt),msm and Propecia)I also eat healthy (low fat for the most part)add soy and drink a fair amount of grn.tea. I am seeing results where the crown is filling in(loss of hair has almost halted esp.in the shower) Just waiting for the 2k+ grafts on the frontal By Dr.Shapiro to show up.About at the 3 mnth mark. Greg
  3. Hi Jacob, I went by what Dr.Shapiro told me,also what he gives you in his post opt.instructions. Said it was a choice only and that some studies have showed it "may" improve or speed up the growth of the grafts. Said if choose to do so use 2% twice a day or 5% once day and disregard box instructions. To start it 2weeks after surgery and continue for 2 months. Nothing at all about the grafts staying dormant. Now since I already had hair in the region where the grafts were transplanted I decided not to do it.I did not want that existing hair becoming dependant on the Minox and lose them sooner since I knew I wasn't going to keep up with the Minox after 2 months. My other thinking was I believe my blood supply on the scalp was great just by what I saw during the surgery. Also this is the front core and hairline.Which I believe the blood supply is even greater.I believe this is very important regarding the grafts. Now if it was on the crown I might have gone the Minox route. This was MY choice and I could be right or could be wrong but the decision I made. In regards to the Fin this was my experience with the shed.It was nothing drastic(and I am not trying to scare anybody)but it DOES exist and newbies should be made aware.Maybe I was kidding myself but I wasn't really expecting the shed. And like I said I am sticking with it because you need to wait out the year to see the whole picture. Also not to get so down on the shed because that hair was going to be lost anyway down the line.Fin is the only real proven weapon we have right now to slow down the loss that is both simple to use and w/o "drastic" side affects.(this is my belief) There is also the libido factor however with Fin but everyone has to make there own choices and decisions.Hopefully if we all give our own experiences it will help us make the best ones possible. peace,Greg
  4. I started Propecia in 2/05 and saw some shedding in my crown area that before was solid. My hair loss was frontal core and hairline. After about 6 weeks the shed seemed to stop. It's only been about 4 months now total(2 since shed)so tough to tell if any regrowth has occured(maybe some fine hairs).I'm hoping I will get some.I had big-time thick hair in the crown so even with the shed I still have coverage but I wasn't thrilled to say the least. I am sticking with the Propecia(to stabalize)what I have.I also look at the shed by that I was eventually going to loose some of that hair w/o Propecia anyway. I don't want to do Minox.(not into the oily)deal whatsoever.Haven't even used it in the new graft area which some do to speed things up. I had 2200grafts done on the frontal core 4/19/05 and saw an additional "slight" shock loss in the crown & mid-region.Didn't last long and I'm hoping to get some regrowth with my new routine also as time goes by from the surgery.Still numb in the mid-region where some of the shock loss occured. I am going to start Niz 2% and hope this can help also.Lots of guys seem to put it into their routine. I was shocked to seen the cost of this stuff. I had to get the perscription and it is anywhere for $40-50!! depending on what pharmacy you go to. Robert is that what you are paying? The generic version is only $10...I'm wondering if that would be just as good?It is still 2% Keto but I did buy the Niz this time. Thanks,Greg
  5. How many weeks after a HT do you think you should wait before it's ok to start using this?I see McNeil who makes this has a Canadian version also.Has anyone tried to get this online out of Canada that can be trusted? Thanks,Greg
  6. I did a ton of research and believe you can not do better then Dr.Shapiro also.He is tops for the hairline.I flew in from the Eastcoast to go to him.Still too early for my results but so far so good.I guess it boils down to your preferance & if you are comfortable with them.Do your homework and consult with many of them.Overall there are about 6-8 top Dr's that whoever had work done by them thinks they are the "best".So it will always be in debate but their work speaks for itself. peace,Greg
  7. Thanks guys...I have noticed it darker pink at different times mostly when I'm pushing myself.I am down to a #1 myself.Usually my hair is kept at about a 3" length. So I let Dr.Shapiro shave the front core to work and the rest of my hair was long left long.I had to live in a hat for 6 weeks(no fun).Robert when did you feel comfortable to start running & lifting again? For the most part I'm still trying to take it easy.Kinda worried about that donor stretching that you hear about.Dr.Shapiro did comment how very loose my scalp was so hopefully this helps. It is still sore back there at times mostly when I'm leaning back on it.Example would be like at the movies.Leaning my head against the chair was uncomfortable.Just saw Cinderella Man which was outstanding.Keeps you rooting better then Rocky 1. Greg
  8. Hey when did you start to see the strip scar loose the "pinkish" color and closer match the scalp(have dark hair, wht.scalp)?I'm about 2mths out 2200grafts(front core) on 4/19 Dr.Shapiro.The strip is about from ear to ear(maybe 1/8" wide...not good with cm) but the shock was minimal and the hair even cut very short covers it up pretty good.I'm using the common sence stuff(mederma, vit.E & aloe plant)as often as possible. And once the front starts to grow I will let the hair grow out much longer. So just curious. Thanks for your imput. peace,Greg

  10. First time posting but have been reading for months.Had 2146 grafts done(front core) by Dr.Shapiro 4/19(3 days ago) and the total hair count was 4389.Just curious to see what the average yeild is for total hair counts out there.I have staples but have started to use aloa & mederma lightly on them before I get them taken out. Also the graftcyte spray.I had some bleeding from donor scar the night after surgery but when I went back to SMC for the next day shampoo Dr.Shapiro said it was very minor and sealed it up.I do have some forehead swelling but besides that so far so good.I flew from CT. to MN. to have Dr.Shapiro do the work and am sure I made the right choice. Now the waiting game begins. Also your ball cap becomes your best friend.
