  1. TommyF, can you please create a weblog? I am very eager to see some pictures
  2. i had the same question too. I remember a disappointed patient from H&W who had thin hair and i believe Dr Hasson had told him that his hair characteristics were not suitable for HT but he went ahead for a transplant and he was very disappointed with the results after 1 year....probably jotronics can answer this?? Can some hair characteristics be considered unsuitable for HT?
  3. Tommy, nice to see your post. Can you please share some pre-op photos? Even i have fine hair and i would like to see your pre and post op pcitures. I am thinking of a HT in apr/may08 either with H&W or Rahal(Still deciding). Thanks!
  4. i feel this argument should stop, Dr Mohmand has really tried to make his point. He definitely deserves some respect for trying so hard to convince everyone! I have personally tried minoxidil and propecia with little to no results! personally even if laser treatment would stop me from losing 1-2hair/day i would go for it! why don't we see it this way, skin produces vitamin d when sunlight/any light hits the skin. I hope everybody agrees to this. May be the vitamin d prodution due to the light(may be just simple light) helps the skin in the scalp to produce vitamin d which naturally produces anti-oxidants in the skin, which "may" reduce the interference of DHT with hair follicle? Probably all we need is couple of hours in sunlight...but for people who don't get this on a daily basis(like me...i have a computer job) may be it helps just a little? 1% may be? just my 0.02
  5. jeez.....thanks for the clarification Dr feller! that really sucks....nobody should be charging a penny for treatment with those flash toys!
  6. if laser is just a light with no other properties why is it be used in eye surgery and other plastic surgeries ...
  7. BTW i had a friend who had a bad acne scar and went to a place where they did some laser skin treatment, and i definitely see a difference....not sure if the laser really did anything? Just sayin..
  8. well....i don't know what types of laser guns are used for hair loss treatment, i am not sure if they are the same ones used in some laser toys? those are just light and nothing more..... But not all lasers just bounce off our skin, laser is used for permanent body hair removal( killing hair follicle??), eye surgery, kidney stones removal,surgeries.. treatment of skin scars etc...
  9. Bill, Thanks for the reply, yes i will see a dermatologist the coming week. I have been taking zinc supplement(50-70mg) everyday. I read on a forum that it may be the reason too. I will stop it for now and see how it goes.
  10. Although i have typical MPB, i never see hair falling off from the top of my head...they are just thinning away.... But in the sides...just around the area where the hair is supposed to be permanent, i see lot of hairloss! i really don't understand what is going on? i am sure a hundreds are falling off everyday...i wash my hair everyday...1day with nizoral and next with nioxin... and keep my scalp clean...still the hair which is supposed to be permanent is falling off rapidly?? I even see a small white bulb at the end of many falling hair, i believe this means that the hair is falling from the follicle and will never grow back.... anyone else have this issue? Can any doctor please advice what could be the reason, and what i can do about this? I am really worried about going for a HT now as i am not sure if my "permanent" hair is really permanent

  12. I meant weight training boosts Test...not creatine...sorry if that was not clear...
  13. creatine does nothing to Fin....but if ur taking creatine for weight training, then you may experience more hairloss due to the test boost...this happened to me
  14. @Badger thanks for the reply...i am already on propecia now...no side effects/complains from anyone I am just looking for more alternatives....i workout often and take a few protein/creatine supplements...my hairloss seem to have become more aggressive after i started working out about an yr ago...so i am looking for more options than propecia and minox....
  15. Has anyone had any luck with Toco 8?? i am planning to give it a try! Also, has anybody read about stinging nettle extract? Toco 8 is supposed to work in a different route of making clean skin and scalp with antioxidants of coconut saturated fat...while stinging nettle again seems to work in the same route as saw palmetto.....anybody?
  16. well.....the growth of new hair may be slower due to smoking cigarettes, but male pattern baldness should not be affected If the DHT theory of hairloss is correct then smoking should slow hairloss!! Smoking definitely reduces test levels which inturn should lower the DHT levels slowing down the hairloss
  17. @@redkun from my research i would say 2500-3000 would do the job, why i am saying this is.....age 24-35 would be most important in terms of looking good and stuff atleast for me...there are lot of old people who are bald....looking bald below 30 is horrible! .and i want to look the best at this age, and probably it will be okay to look bald when i am older than 40! i don't think it would be too aggressive....with a decent amount of grafts in 1st HT you probably wont need to think of another HT within 5 years, else this will be a damn never ending daily issue..... 2 things even i am very worried about 1) shock loss(many times permanent) 2) my silky soft and thin hair which is definitely a problem to provide density with fewer grafts which means i may need upto 5000grafts to give same appearance while someone else with thick/curly hair may only need 3000 grafts Both have no solution mate! probably shaving off our head is the best solution!
  18. Avodart supresses both type 1 and type 2 DHT. Propecia supresses only type 2 DHT. Type 1 DHT is found in brain cells! so it is not clear of its functions, hence currently not approved for hairloss. When DHT is supressed completely all the test could possibly convert to estrogen, you may want to add in an estrogen blocker else you may end up with Moobs aka bitch tits!! Did you mean minoxidil orally?? Progesterone is a female reproductive harmone found in tiny quantities in men, i dunno how this could help? any explanation? good luck with your experiment though! i am planning for such an experiment myself! things we do for hair...tsc tsc
  19. Red, ur hairloss looks pretty much like mine....in terms of density and receding hairline....and u do a decent job covering it up with existing hair having said this, i would say that you will need atleast 3500 grafts for a good coverage....i have very similar density and most top surgeons have recommended around 3500-4000 grafts for me. I live in Dallas,Texas and i had consulted with a few doctors here and everyone recommended 1500 grafts to me!! stay away from these doctors.
  20. Okay, There are probably around 50 doctors in this coalition itself, i have spoken to many of the doctors and most of them claim that they do a few surgeries every week! and say that we may need to book months in advance to get a date. If so many surgeries are being performed on a daily basis, why do i see hardly 1-2 results posted either by surgeon or patient per week from all surgeons combined? Why are there such less number of results on the internet? even the Web blog i have seen, i see most of the updates are either pre and post op, and no further updates even though the post surgery dates are 6-8months ago. My question is.. 1) How many surgeries does the top clinics perform every week? and if they are all operating from many years(10+ yrs), why is that we don't see equal or atleast comparable number of success stories with pictures from these clinics? 2) I have also seen many scenarios where the growth is pretty less compared to the number of grafts, so does the top clinics garuntee that atleast 90% of the grafts grow and probably offer further surgery for free if that does not happen? Sorry for the lengthy post!

  22. guys, after looking at Azza's results i am very reluctant about a HT. almost all the clinics i have spoken to says that 99% of the planted grafts grow... but i am seeing many cases where this is not true.... Looks like HT is a good option for people over 35 who have already stabilized and reached a stable hairloss state.....and i don't fall under this category
  23. Bill, Thanks for your reply. I did it directly thru H&W website. I also received an email confirmation that it has been received. Jotronic is looking into it. Bill, i can't thank you enough! you are being so helpful to thousands of people everyday 3 cheers to you mate!!!
