  1. Sorry guys for the not so clear explanation; i was a little tired.

i have read that a hairs survival rate can be vastly reduced or even die when:

    1) A certain type of anesthetic is used on the donor area; and/or

    2) Hair follicles get damaged when not dissected under a microscope

Once these damaged hair follicles are transplanted into the recipient area, how long is it before they fall out; normal shedding, straight away or?

Will these damaged hairs fall out with the follicle attached or detached, and will they atually grow before falling out ?

The hairs in my recipient area with scabs and some without do not seem to be growing much and are nowhere as near as long as Bill's hairs at 1 month post HT. This gives me cause for concern and makes me think that some of my hair follicles in the recipient area may of got damaged in the HT process, hence the question on damaged hair follicles?

  2. Hi,

I live in the UK and the current place i am purchasing my Proscar from is charging me ??320 per annum. I know this is expensive as i have seen it mentioned on this site @ a vastly reduced price to what i am currently paying. Could someone tell as to where i can purchase such hair loss medication as Proscar @ a more resonable price, be it on the high street or the internet ? Also does anyone know where i can get hold of Nioxin shampoo ?

  4. it is now just over a month since i have had my HT and i still have a lot of dry skin in the recipient area. Could someone please advise me on what would be an appropriate shampoo to rid the dry skin and reduce itching? Would a combination of Nizoral and Nioxin or any other shampoo combination be of help? I am currently using baby shampoo but have read that Nizoral anti-dandruff shampoo is good ?

Sounds like we are going to have such a laugh, i can't wait to meet up with you guys it gives me so much more of an incentive to save for that special day!! Cheers Bill, you can scope the honeys for us, i bet you got an eye for them. It is the opposite with me, women give me the eye a glass one (haha)!!

  7. Cous,

I would very much like to hit some of the hotspots in Manhattan, and it sure would be easier to have a guide with me who is also a friend, so thanks!! Maybe we could hire a soft top car to drive around Manhattan whilst having the bonus of our new found hair flowing in the cool afternoon breeze, weather permitting!! You have impressed me with ur knowledge of Wales and Tom Jones, and my accent isn't so bad then cause i sound like him!

Johnno, I have not seen your pics but depending on your existing donor supply i am certain Dr Feller will be able to harvest as much as possible in order to give you as much coverage as possible. The best thing is to wait for several months to see how your recent HT works out - This way an appropriate plan of action can be applied to your individual case.

If you are interested Dr Feller is over in the UK performing consultations on the 27th/30th January now and there is also an openhouse of several UK Dr Feller patients getting together for a few beers also.

Cheers spex for the post. I will leave the HT for a year or 2 and then pursue another for definite. I will leave the UK consultation this year and attend in 2008, as i think the true results of my old school HT will be revealed and my HT expectations will be clearer!! I will keep in touch with you from time to time!

    Thanks Spex
