I was on accutane for a long time with a pretty high dose. My hair fell out rapidly. Lucky I had a lot of it. But compared to my brother who took no accutane he has tons more hair.

does accutane cause your hair to fall out? Hell yea.

  2. I dont think your hair "catches up" to the point it should be as if you didnt take propecia when you stop. You just stop receiving the benefits of the drug. In your example you would have five years of help from the drug.

I had a lot of concerns with Propecia. I wish I would have started it 10 years ago. In fact I did but I stopped taking it because of paranoia.

HT and propecia go hand and hand at least that's what I am prescribing to right now.

My wife noticed hair loss (slight) with the birth of our second daughter. she is very educated and told me its quite normal and it will grow back. so you might get your hair back if it is related to the pregnancies.

  4. This is donald's signature. It gets him discussed. He loves having hair like that and still pull in hot chicks. Its his way of saying "i'm better then you even with hair like this". Its a passive aggressive thing.

A poll on this forum would not be scientific of course. How many guys could say for sure it is the finasteride itself causing the problem or the placebo affect of hearing this stuff will shrink your dick. The mind is a powerful thing, the more you think it will have a negative affect, the more likely you will.

Not taking up for merck by any means but if one of these drug companies ultimately find a cure for baldness without any risks, how many of you would still keep bashing them?

I have not had any problems using fin myself and really cannot tell if it has regrown anything, but if it saves what I have for some time I will be satisfied.

a good post. I had erection problems as a guy in my early twenties when I had high anxiety and some depression. Once I worked myself out of it my boner got real solid again. The good old days of sex when I went on a trip with my girlfriend and had sex 25 times in 12 days. Now I have sex 25 times a year. The erection is influenced by many things. If your a bit neurotic and unbalanced and you read something about "side effects" your probably going to be effected by them.

  6. Matt you sound very passionate about what you put into your body and how it effects it. Your perspective is just that: yours. It doesnt apply to everyone. You have given out some good information for people to chew on. I read the first couple pages of this thread and noticed you said you smoked. Nothing is worse then then in constricting blood vessels. Have you ever seen the face of a smoker. Yes it looks real bad. Your penis is effected by many things. When I was a teenager I took accutane and it severely effected my erections. At times I was depressed and unable to get it up despite being very young.( this was off accutane). I noticed you or another poster talked about depression and anti-depressives. Both effect your ability to get an erection.

The natural community is no different then the allopathic community. Both have agendas. I have suffered from bad arthritis since my early twenties and I do whats best for myself. Wether its from the western side or eastern (natural) side. So be careful who your crusading for.

  7. I have had two transplants ten years apart. The first was by Dr. Hitzig in New York. I went to him based on a book of his I read. I assumed he was some sort of authority in the area. I should have looked at the bad plug job he had and ran the other way. But information was sketchy at best and I just went on what was available. Lucky for me I had a decent amount of hair to cover the job he did. His work just acted like a filler.

Over the years as my hairs fell out I realized I needed another one. His work was starting to show. Lucky for me I found this site and choose Dr. Keene. I had the transplant late june and am witholding judgment until I see the finished product but at least I feel somewhat confident I got the best techniques available.

I wanted to tell the story because it brings me to the jist of this post. I wish I would have taken propecia early. I just started taking it because I noticed how much shock loss I just experienced from the second transplant. I could have avoided a lot of this by taking the pill earlier. I am just so against taking medicine unless I really have to. But I realize how important my hair is to me.

No more mistakes. When my transplanted hair grows in if I need more hair I will go back but the moral of the story here is: TAKE THE PROPECIA.

thats a good suggestion. I shall try that.

  10. Not sure how you correlate size with potency. One has nothing to do with the other. See other posts on here about these meds and dont panic so much. If you have searched these "forums endlessly" you should have seen this information right in front of you.

remember medicine has a "half life". They build up levels in the blood. taking them in the morning or evening have nothing to do with how they will work.

As for Aquarius lets cut him some slack,we ALL have said stupid things that we should not have... Thats part of being a man.

Aquarius I foregive you and hope you dont lose 375 hairs because of bad karma.

    Thanks again bros!

Sometimes Aquarius brings a good balance to guys on here who try to butter you up. He has a quirky manner but more often then not is spot on with his analysis. Besides so many guys on here are so "serious" about their "credentials" he brings a bit of levity to the forum.

  12. Hey big guy its natural to have a feeling of something gone wrong after cosmetic surgery. They seemed to have lowered your hair nicely. I just had a procedure with Dr. Keene a couple of months ago and from the first few weeks post op I really cant tell if her work is any good. It needs to grow in first.

If the hairline doesnt look so natural you can always use one of the better docs to patch you up and consider this HT as a filler. But dont let all the negativity scare you. You may have found a good Bosely dr. I am sure they are not all bad.

Their are a lot of people on here that look at pictures and make comments they are not qualified to do so. If you would have said Keene did the work and posted the pics I bet those same people would have said "looks great".

  13. I have begun taking them. It comes in 5 mg. tabs. The doctor said cut them into 4 pieces. I thought no problem I am a nurse I do that all the time. Well its not a big pill and four pieces end up really messy. I have ended up cutting them into three's so I get about 1.6 mg a day instead of 1.25.

What have been your guys experiences or any suggestions.?

  15. I laugh when I read posts that say doctors dont make any money off the drugs. Drug companies send doctors on posh vacations and give all kinds of perks for using their drugs.

What else do you get when you go see a doctor. They know nothing about nutrition. They write you a script for drugs. Their whores for the drug industry.

I see their training every day. You get a report of symptoms, make a diagnosis, order expensive tests and then write prescriptions.

Western medicine is excellent for trauma and surgery. For most illnesses it is very limited.

You must decide when you put a pill in your mouth how much more of a benefit you recieve vs. the possible damage the medicine might cause. Your responsible not the doctor.

  16. Look the guy is 50 and divorced. He wants to get layed right now. Not wait 8 months with a shaved scar filled head. After all when you take a woman home she expects at some point for you to take your hat off.

If he has had 6 transplants in his life most of his hair is transplanted. Why would this be subject to shock loss?

He just needs new work to make his existing stuff look natural.

  17. This is rather easy really. The question is how serious are you about not being bald? If you absolutely hate the idea you might take the risk of taking a chemical compound such as propecia. Our bodies are all different and process out "chemicals" very effectively. We really dont understand completely how everything impacts us. Studies are limited and are not the end all of the discussions. We may be completley unaware right now that a drug like Propecia may in the future be implicated in causing some sort of cancers.

Its your body. Roll the dice.
