  1. Good luck Jeff with DR. Rose. I had some work done by Cohen when I was 22 and after researching for years I finally had an all follicular unit procedure done last year thankfully not by Dr.Cohen.I again am looking since I need more work done and I have narrowed my choices to Dr.Feller,Dr.Cole or Hasson&Wong.I used Dr.Limmer last year...they were fine but after seeing many of the above docs work I will choose from them.And oh yeah I'm a 15 min drive from Cohen so what does that tell you !!! I really hope he gets taken down from these sites because his choice on this and other sites is really making me wonder about other docs recommended. icon_eek.gif

  2. CaseinPoint;

    I had a surgery with Dr.Brad Limmer in Febuary.I can not say enough about how happy I am on the results thusfar.Dr.Limmer utilizes technicians for hairtransplants alittle more than most doctors BUT the techs who do the actual placement of grafts some have more experience than some doctors now doing the procedure.Anyway,read my other posts and you'll see a detailed explanation on my surgery.

    You can't go wrong with Dr.Limmer icon_razz.gif

  3. Dr.Feller :

    Thoase results if it were MY head would be very disappointing.If this guy was going to get more procedures all of the grafts could have been placed over time in the frontal region and spread thruout over ALL sessions.He looks like a freak to tell you the truth.

    I was under the impression ( at least from my doctor Dr.Limmer ) that all procedures should be done to the point where another procedure was not mandatory that it could stand alone on its own. icon_wink.gif

  4. Don't use Dr.Cohen.I had a transplant with him in 1992 when I was 23 years old.I almost made the mistake of going again to him in 98 BUT once he charged my Bluecross for the "Free" consultation and he couldn't tell me how many grafts I had the first procedure I decided to wait.

    Cohen just recently started using Follicular Units --- He can't quote a price per graft untill he sees you ---LOL ----Look on Pat's list and you'll see plenty of doctors who won't mislead you --they state there price per graft UP FRONT !

    Even though all cases are different there is a set price guide most doctors use and would gladly tell a prospective patient about UPFRONT !!!

    Don't be fooled by Cohen's slick talk

    I live 20 minuets from his office and I flew to San Antonio to see Dr.Brad Limmer and I wasan't disappointed icon_eek.gif

  5. Pat ;

    I emailed a phone number and filled in some of the blanks for you on my first post.

    To let everyone else know --I had one procedure at 22-23 years of age with Dr.Cohen.I didn't again see him untill aprox 96-98.I was prescribed propecia by him and I never returned to him again.He did charge me via my Bluecross.

    The surgeon who I had the consultation with was Dr.Beehner.He has pictures of my head back then and I have pictures of my head pre Febuary when I had 1500 FU's by Dr.Brad limmer.

    Dr.Cohen never mentioned Follicular Units to me in my last consult.

    I also asked pat if he could ask Dr.BL LImmer what year Dr.Cohen learned Folicular Units under him.

    And here's something I forgot to include in my email to Pat:

    I am willing to sign a "release" so that Pat can review my file from Dr.Cohen.

  6. Pat ;

    I am a "former" patient of Dr.Cohen.I find it VERY HARD to believe that you have placed him on a recommended list of doctors to use.I had my 1 and only procedure with Dr.Ivan Cohen in the early 90's when I was approx 22 years old !! I still to this day don't have a clue on how many Mini to plug type grafts he gave me.Over the years my hair grew thinner.I again chose to look on the internet and to have another consultation with Dr.Cohen.The part of the NO FEE Consultation is a falsehood at least for MINE it was.Dr.Cohen stated to me "I can give you the same amount of grafts you had last time".He never named a number and to this day I still don't know how many I had.He also gladly billed my Bluecross for my "CONSULTATION".This consultation was maybe 97-98.Dr.Cohen hadan't even mentioned "Follicualar Unit".I had consultations with 2 other respected doctors and both said that the work he did was fair to ok BUT grafts were pitted.

    This guy claims he's the first doctor in Connecticut to use Follicular units.He's made that statement just recently in the past few years.

    Trust me on this one guys ----I live about 20 minutes from his office and I choose to fly to San Antonio Texas for my work !!!

  8. Here's is my question ....I had surgery with Dr.Limmer on 2/11/02.The past 2 days 5/3,5/4 I have rubbed my head and rubbed a spot on my transplanted area that felt like a pimple or felt like a dried up pimple.I rubbed and out came a "Single"hair along with what I thought was a dried pimple or whatever it is.Did anyone ever have that happen to them and did the FU get ruined ??

  10. After reading almost every web site of the doctors recommmended here and other sites ...what are (in your opinions) the differences between the doctors recommended? Some say Shapiro is the best ...8000 for 2000fu's,then you can go to Hasson&Wong and get that for 7200 or so,Bernstein cost 10,000 --Limmer 4250 for approx 1500 --Nussbaum about 3-4 a graft ---WHAT'S THE REAL DIFFERENCE ??? icon_confused.gif

  12. I'll be 3 months post surgery on 5/11/02 --I as many people am very impatient.To answer the question on what dr's skills are better between father and son limmer ...I don't know.They use a stick and place method and the planter does 99.9% of the surgery.Dr.Limmer is in and out of the room alot(about every 10-15 minuetes)so if you have any problems with anything he's just a shout away.The pain in the donor area went away about a month or so.By me saying pain it was just a twing of "shock" every so often.They used disolvable stitches and they all came out about 2 weeks or so after the surgery.I didn't notice any shock loss at all because I had previous mini's in the front of my head and the rest was pretty much gone.The donor strip wasan't ear to ear ---it was a good 3 inches in from each ear ---I am trying to feel for it now as I type and its difficult to find.I don't think you could go wrong with Dr.Limmer's office in a surgery.I look forward to seeing results and having another procedure done.
