  1. I have one 3 inch scar on the side of the head with small areas of sparseness around the sutured areas as well. I am 4 months post op. The width of the scar is about 2-3 mm and in some spots around 3-5mm. I only had 400 grafts so I feel like this could be much smaller. The scar is still a little pink. My goal: I would like to shave the sides of my head very close in the end. I was thinking: Scar revision first, then attempt FUE/FIT into the area down the road. I'm not sure my scar would be considered wide enough to merit a revision but I certainly have seen better in photos. Should I do this or just skip straight into FIT/FUE? Also what is the best time to get a revision? My scar is 4 months post-op and still a little red though I'm not sure if I should wait a certain amount of time if I was to go with a revision. Any reccomendations (procedures/doctors etc...) are highly appreciated.

  3. HI Doc, I have one 3 inch scar on the side of the head with small areas of sparseness around the sutured areas as well. I am 4 months post op. 4. Does anyone have any photos or information on regrowth in the donor scar area? I understand it to be about 30% in regrowth success but I think there are many that would like to see actual photos of regrowth and how it changes the appearance of the scar. If anyone has had good/bad experiences with specific doctors or techniques that would also be helpful. Also any uses of combinations ie: recoloring of the donor scar to match skin tones, tissue expansion etc... How do you wear your hair after the repair work? I would like to try to gather and research stories about having this procedure done and if it would be reccomended by past patients since this seems to vary. I'm pondering the idea of making a website for information on this subject since I have come across many people looking to do this but lacking any real information to research (of course everything will be kept confidential unless permission is given, if I don't get much info or response, I might not be able to do the site anyways...). Pls msg back here if you can give any input. Photos would be great if you can take the time to help.

  6. What are people's experiences with redness going away in their donor area scar? How long approximately should this take on average? Has anyone had experiences with the redness NEVER going away? I hear this is the case with some scars. Also, does anyone know of any additional treatments to aid in the scar healing. I have heard mention of CP (Copper Peptide Solutions) but am not sure if these are just sales pitches.

  8. Has anyone had experiences, ideas or success with repairing the scar in their donor area using grafts? I have heard of new methods where FI or FUE is used to implant individual hairs into the scar to cover it though there is very little information available on the internet. There are a few photos of the operation but little documentation on success or failure of those procedures. I have heard that this process has a high failure rate in regrowth, but It seems like there are many people who could benefit from this even if they have to implant twice the amount of grafts for success. This post is in regards to any type of scar (thin or thick) since IMO a scar is a scar and no one should have to live with one unless they have to.
