This was my second HT, and I shudder at the thought of doing it a third time. LOL. But again, my doc is top notch so I'm psyched to have him. The area I would need touched up is the hair line itself, but just pretty much on my left side, probably the size of 2-3 postage stamps. That said, more density never killed anyone, but I've always had fine hair, so I think I can only take the density thing so far. I just want to not have that wispy look, and it would be great to not see scalp in the light. I was thinking, if I do need a touch up, hopefully a mini, I wanted to use a few extra grafts to just fill in part of the strip scar. Would that be advisable?

Do the docs generally charge for a touch up or is it part of the original HT? So they can just open up a portion of the scar, that's cool. Though it sounds like it'll be another couple weeks of downtime from the gym. Ugh.

I had a HT about a year ago, I had a great Doctor! He did an awesome job, it's just I don't think I achieved good density around the hairline though, one side in particular... I think I might need a touch up or a mini session. What exactly does this entail? I'm going in to see my doc right after the new year.

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has had this done and what were your results? I've had two HT's, both successful, but I feel borderline with satisfaction in terms of fullness. Hi all, I had a consult with Dr. Deyarman. He was very nice, as was his office manager Isabel. I had paid a deposit for my surgery that was supposed to be at the end of September. Unfortunately, I could not keep that date for financial reasons, and Dr. Deyarman was very nice in giving me back my deposit 100%.

What type of closure technique did you have? Was it the Trichophytic Closure Technique?

So I'm seeing varying degrees of when to return to the gym and why. The main concern seems to be stretching of the scar. But is that because of the physical activity or is it because of putting pressure against the scar (example: laying on a weight bench)? I should be able to turn my head and everything without fear of stretching the scar yes? So after the normal 10-ish days after the procedure, I should be able to go back to lifting so long as I focus on not putting actual physical pressure against the scar. Is this correct?

But there isn't a difference in that staples keep the scar closed tighter or anything, or prevents stretching more than sutures?

which is better and why? Also, would it be smart to have the doc save about 500 hairs from the strip and put them back into the scar during the surgery? Anyone do this?

Dr. Leonard in RI did my first surgery. He was pretty good actually. The strip scar in the back isn't bad at all really, but it is noticable if I cut my hair too short. The Trichophytic Closure technique wasn't around then, this was about 4 years ago. I just moved to San Diego, and was checking up on Dr. DeYarman when I rediscovered this board. Granted I would not want to throw money away, but to me, I'd rather spend the extra $ for a better procedure and have it done great. If I got the Trichophytic Closure, what does that look like in the donor area after it's done? Is there still a strip where there is no hair? I heard there is not supposed to be.

I just moved here and have had one hair transplant in the past, and I'm looking to get one more. Any recommendations on who I should see?

Also, I'm a weight lifter, and move heavy stuff for a living as well. So the downtime after strip is a huge concern.

So here's my deal. I had a strip style hair transplant done a few years back. I'm pretty satisfied with the results in the front, but I really hate the scar in the back. I want to get another hair transplant this summer/early fall and I'm trying to decide if I should get FUE to fill in the remainder of the front and the donor scar from the first surgery in the back. Or if I should get another strip technique with the Trichophytic Closure. I like to wear my hair really short, right now I can't go below a #4 with buzzers around the donor scar, and I really want to use a #2 or ideally #1. Any suggestions or info on which technique would be better?
