  1. No I had the FUT procedure done, I dont believe my doctor does the FUE. Dr. Albert in Pennsylvania. Weird thing, I still feel some very short picky hairs sticking up here and there, hopefully there is more growth to come.
  2. Sorry for not posting in such a long time..... Sometimes life gets in the way... Anyway, I am now at 26 weeks post op, 1600 grafts (1300 3/4's & 300 1/2's). I feel happy with the results considering the small amount of grafts. I continue to take finasteride daily, I think its still growing in. Please comment.
  3. Sounds like a really dumb ?, so please forgive me as I have super careful with my investment. Is it ok to go swimming now and be in the sun?
  4. Here I am almost 5 months, 1600 grafts via strip (1300 3/4 grafts, 300 1/2 grafts). IT has been an emotional 5 months, thats for sure. I feel I have progressed well in the last few weeks, I am still a bit thin, but I feel I have more hair than I did. Hopefully it will continue to thicken in the coming months. I still feel some short hairs sticking up, I am not sure if these are new hairs poking thru or hairs that never shed and have not grown yet. I have been taking finasteride daily. So here are some pics, please comment...
  5. Same here aseda1979, front looks thicker especially in the front center, everywhere else ehhhh a bit. My g.f says it does so, Im gonna remain positive.
  6. Sorry I havent been updating my progress. Really not much to talk about. Some fine little hairs here and there poking up, not much to get excited about yet. My g.f says my hair looks thicker, I think it does a bit, not enough to say WOW look at this. Its been a very very slow process but its early yet.
  7. Today is 15 weeks post op, 1600 grafts FUT. Seeing growth on my hairline, but very little on top, which is bugging me. My g/f says my hair is thicker, my scalp isnt as visible as it was months ago. When I get out of the shower, I see a few very small curly hairs sticking up, thats about all the growth I am seeing. A bit dissapointed, but I know its still early. I have attached some photos, please feel free to comment.
  8. Well I am at 14 weeks now and starting to see some fine little hairs poking through on my hairline, not sure about the top as I as still have some decent hair up there. When I do get out of the shower, i see a few really short hairs sticking up, so it looks like things are starting to kick in now. The last time i posted something in this forum, I was really depressed and going nuts. I can say i have settle for the time being. Thank you all for the support.
  9. I am hanging in there guys, I really am. Trying to remain positive. I have seen a lot of growth on my hairline, some but not much on top. I have not been looking in the mirror as much. I just did now for the first time in a white, I see many fine little whispy hairs. I have really learned to be patient and not keep looking in the mirror, its hard, but its the right thing to do. Thank you all for the support.
  10. Thank you for all the help... I guess I am flirting with going off the deep end.
  11. Tomorrow marks my 12 week post op, 1600 grafts (1300 3/4's 300 1/2's). Most of the 1/2's grafts on my hairline never shed and kept growing. SOme of the grafts on the top of my head never shed and feel like stubble, maybe a few have grew, thats it. Most of the pimples have cleared on their own and seem to be gone. But for the most part I am not seeing any growth, I am still getting the comments that I am going bald and I am getting thin up top, it frustrating and upsetting that I spent money on something that appears to have not really enhanced my appearance. I was looking forward to the day I could go out in public and not feel akward and not have to wear a hat. Really beginning to wonder if this HT was a success. I know I am only 3 months post op, but I am tired of looking in the mirror and seeing nothing.
  12. I am at 11 weeks post op 1600 grafts via FUT. About 1 month ago i noticed some dry skin and dandruff on my scalp. I went to see my doctor and he told me it wasnt a big deal and to start using a dandruff shampoo. I have been using it and its cleared up the dandruff quite well, however the dead skin is still there, just not as bad. The strange thing is when i gently try to comb my hair, the comb gets stuck on my scalp, i looked in the mirror closely last night when i did this i found the comb is getting stuck on all of these little hairs that never shed, these little hairs appeared to be raised about my scalp with a little bump. I would say 50-100 grafts never shed the little hairs, I am not pulling these hairs out when the comb is getting stuck on them. This leads me to beleive they wont shed and the hair is still attached to the graft. They should start growing in the next couple of months. Any input?
  13. Coming up on 11 weeks, it been a long long 11 weeks. Seeing growth on my hairline and a few new hair sprouting up on the top of my head. I have pimples that dont hurt, but are an eyesore. I wanna cut my hair but, the pimples are very unattractive. Weird thing, when i get out of the shower and the rest of my hair is laying flat on my head, i have a bunch of hairs that are standing up vertically, these are new hairs, just weird how they are not laying flat on my scalp but growing straight up.
  14. I am coming up on 10 weeks post op, 1600 grafts FUT. Is it safe to cut my hair now without doing any damage to the grafts? My hair is outragously long, and want to cut it. Not really a question but a comment, the pimples are everywhere on my head, dont really hurt, but they look unattractive.
  15. Figured I would give an update on my progress. I am at 8 weeks post op 1600 grafts FUT. I had a visit with my doctor on Tuesday because of what I described as a rough scalp, turns out it was dandruff, was told to switch over to a dandruff shampoo and see what happens. Much to his surprise, I showed him all of the hair that is starting to grow on my hairline, along with a few on the top of my head, he said being at only 8 weeks thats very early. I am trying to kick the habit of looking in the mirror every time i walk in the bathroom. I have some pimples here and there, they come and go, but they are rather annoying.
  16. At only 6 days, I would think its a bit early to use hair gel. But its only my opinion, best to call your doctor and ask.
  17. Well I was hoping to get a reply to ease my mind before I went to my doctor this morning, but looks like I didnt. Well I saw my doctor and he said I have some dandruff, nothing too bad. He told me to use head n shoulders and even if I wanted to use some olive oil. Has anyone used olive oil on their scalp before?
  18. I am almost 8 weeks 1600 grafts via strip. I have taken notice lately that on certain spots on my scalp there is a crust and/or like dead skin. When i try to comb my hair, the comb gets stuck on these little spots. I am not sure if they are dried up pimples or what. When i gently rub my fingers over my scalp, I can feels these spots. Any thoughts?
  19. Yup I am in the same boat, better than i was a few weeks ago, but still feeling crappy. 7 weeks post op, just started to see a few hairs sprout.
  20. This hasnt been easy, I started losing my hair around 20. My hairline receded, than I thinned on top. At 24 I got my first HT, unfortuneately I suffered permanent shock loss, the transplanted hair grew, but after a year or so I was the same as before. Just got my 2nd HT 7 weeks ago, I cant wait for the results. Having to wear a hat everytime I go out in public, being anxious around people, and stuff like that will come to an end hopefully soon. As far as my g/f, at some point Im just gonna snap. Like everyone has said, I dont think she realizes the emotional trauma losing my hair has caused me.
  21. I am at almost 7 weeks post op, 1600 grafts (strip). I am seeing alot of hair growing on my hairline and some on the top of my head, its about 1/2"-1" long, the rest of the hair on my head is about 6", so these small hairs are new. Could this be my native hair growing back from shockloss? Or could it be the transplanted hair growing already? How can I tell if its transplanted or native hair? I have been on finasteride for almost 8 weeks.
  22. Figure I ask how support everyones signifigant other was when you made the choice to get a HT. My g/f has been very unsupportive. She told me I could have spent 5k on something better and thats what they make Bics for. I dont think she understands the embarrassment of loosing your hair. My self-esteem, confidence, and happiness doesnt exist anymore. She continues to tell me i look like crap, right now i am in the ugly duckling phase, 7 weeks post op. It hasnt been easy, but i know the best is yet to come. I plan on growing my hair to my shoulders just to here people say, look at all of that hair!!!!
  23. I am coming up on 7 weeks post op, most of the transplanted hair has shed, only some has stayed and grew on my hair line, and some maybe 50 or so has stayed on the top of my head, they feel and look like a crew cut. I experienced some shock loss on the top, I look worse now than i did pre-surgery. I had 1600 grafts via strip, 1300 3 or 4 hair grafts and 300 1 or 2 grafts. I have had many pimples/cysts, they come and go. Just feeling really anxious to see the results in a few months, much to my surprise when i went in for my consultation the doctor told me i could get away with minimum 1200 grafts for decent coverage, I got 1600 in which he said would give me excellent results. The waiting game has been tough on me, but i must be patient.
