  1. I figure they're about the same size because if the propecia was 1/5th the size, it would be easy to drop and never find. I think most of the pill is just filler material.
  2. Manko, Like the Dentist??? Quite the Contrary. I had a root canal up on returning from Vancouver. I can honestly say that the root canal was worse than the H.T. I was just in for a cleaning this go around. --Blake
  3. Vocor, I don't really care what non-friends think. I could as easily call the guy who refers to me as "plugs", Potbelly. Being long out of the third grade, I don't feel any need for name calling. I have to agree with you on gals staring at the hairline. I've even told a couple of them, "Hey, my eyes are here!". That's just in good fun though. --Blake
  4. I had no choice but to come clean. My procedure was done on a Wednesday and I returned to work the following Monday. I had the bozo ring in the back, and being fair skinned the redness and scabs were impossible to hide. We have a no hat rule here. I took a lot of crap from a few people, no one I consider a friend though. Today marks 12 weeks, and I am still being called "Plugs" and "Mid-Life Crisis". My real friends don't care. What I found astonishing was the number of guys who are interested in the procedure. Males I work with are interested in it for themselves. Females I work with are interested in it for their Sig others. Why is it that a woman can have breast enlargements/liposuction and never here a word, but if a guy has a H.T. it's open season? --Blake
  5. Vocor, I knew I could expect some ingrown hairs, but am still surprised by every one of them. It's been 6 weeks since I had my HT. I've had 4 ingrowns that I've found so far. Kind of annoying. I thought I was long past the pimple stage. No significant growth yet. A certain number of the transplanted hairs have hung on and are growing. I'm going to have my barber take a closer look tomorrow and see if he's noticed any change. --Blake
  6. NC30, The hair color thing interests me. I have blonde hair that has slightly darkened over the years. I had a HT 3 weeks ago today. The hair at the back of my head appears slightly darker than at the front. Could be due to the greater density. I am very curious as to what shade the transplants will grow in at. --Blake
  7. Jenn, About 6 years ago(She'll be 30), one of my sisters had some kind of hormonal imbalance that caused her to lose some hair among other things. Her hair is thinner now than before, but she was working with an endocrinologist (sp?) and she looks much better now. I believe it was a particular disorder, but I can't recall the name. I never did pry into what the story was, but I'll be giving her a call this weekend. I'll ask her about it and see what she's willing to discuss. I'll shoot you any feedback I receive. I have a question for you, or anyone else who cares to chime in. You mentioned that you had 500 grafts. A lot of the before/after pictures I see of women, I notice that the graft count is generally less than 1000. Whereas, the pictures of men the graft count always seems to be 1800+ (I had 2364). Is there a reason that the graft count for women is lower? --Blake
  8. Chad, I lost some of the hair shafts, but I have a bunch left that appear to be growing along with the non-transplants. I've heard it takes up to 4 weeks for the hair to shed. What I don't know is if a shocked folicle can grow hair. I guess I'll find out over the next month if they are going to bail. --Blake
  9. Chad, Looks good. You look like you were at the same stage I was. I also didn't realize how much had bailed in the back, until a friend took a picture. Today is 10 days for me. A friend pulled my staples out at 5:10 this morning. My head feels so much better now. Last night, I was ready to pull the damn things myself. The itching and pulling is gone, and slowly the persistant headache is fading. Out of 58 staples, I only had 1 gusher. Not bad. My barber is going to get rid of my Bozo The Clown hair at noon today. In retrospect, I should have gotten buzzed before hand. I've taken more sh*t in the last week here at work. --Blake
  10. I had 2364 grafts a week ago tommorow and I had some minor swelling the evening of the procedure in the recipient area. I noticed the donor area's swelling went down yesterday, as I am now aware of the staples. Other than that, I didn't have any to speak of. Are some folks just more suceptible to the swelling than others? --Blake
  11. About the currency conversion issue. I've both changed $US to $Can at the the airport and at the street vendors. With a credit card, or an ATM card, you'll be receiving the wholesale exchange rate for the day. It's funny on your bank statement when you see an ATM withdrawl for 121.30 because of the exchange rate. When you're trying to leave Canada, make sure you save a $10 Canadian bill. There's some sort of airport tax you have to pay. 2 years ago it was $10, and they don't care if it's US or Can. --Blake
  12. Son of a Plug, I couldn't agree more with Jotronic on the passport. I will be heading to Canada, by plane, on May 27th for my HT. 2 years ago when I flew to Vancouver on vacation, the customs agent was a major pain when I tried to come back into the US. He almost didn't let me because while quizzing me on my Birth Certificate, I couldn't remember the attending physician. Must have been a slow day at his desk. I just received my Passport a week ago and I'm hoping it will make things easier this go around. Applying for one was no big deal. I downloaded the pertinent forms from the State Dept. web sight (www.state.gov). I filled that out, went to Walgreens at 7:15 AM and paid $8 to have my picture snapped. I took my application, my pictures, my birth certificate, and a check for $85 to the Main Post Office here in Boise. 10 days later I received both my birth certificate and my passport back. I'm assuming it was so quick because of the SARS scare and the Iraq deal. --Blake
  13. I thought I would have to go to the mat to get the 1000 back. It hit my credit card this morning. At least on this front I now have a little respect for them. --Blake

  15. In a lot of ways you come to terms with the recession, but there are still times when it makes you feel extremely insecure. There are times, just getting ready in the morning when you see how thin things have gotten and it bugs you. I've held off on approaching women in some of my usual hangouts because I feel they are as focused on the thining as I am. I'll be interested to see if my behavior changes after my HT. --Blake
